Alright so the new owner will continue running Rad Power Bikes under the same brand which is good (see URL).

I still have some uncertainties about Live EV as a viable company (their stocks are traded under OTC market (aka - pink sheets which doesn't have the best reputation (see Boiler Room movie)) and have some sky-rocket returns although it's tough to explain the drivers for that appreciation).

However, it seems like they are going in the right direction on attempting to relieve some of that tariff debt which was one of the major liabilities for Rad by implementing new manufacturing operations using a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) structure (some loop-hole way to avoid/minimize tariffs while still being able to supply parts from outside the US).

We'll see how it goes I guess.

Rad Modifications / Radwagon 5 with motorcycle 12v...
Last post by usclassic - March 04, 2026, 12:32:52 PM
Finally got the 12v motorcycle turn signals working. The motto if at first you don't succeed try, try, again came into play with this mod. My original plan to use my powerbank with 12v usb booster failed due to the bank shutting off when no load was present. Next I added a dummy load and that failed as well. Next I tried to use the USB-c output on the display and that failed as well shutting down as soon as I turned on the turn signals. Got all the wiring done and into a box mounted where the front basket used to be. Even made a custom graphic for the plain black cover. So now I needed another solution and found this

One of the few power banks that remain on always used for time lapse photography and stuff like cctv cameras and such. Anyway 12 v out is perfect so I ran the power cord back to the rear along the same path as the wire for the rear turn signals and mounted the bank in the tote. Soldered up the plug as with all other connections and shrink wraped the joints. Eureka it works and I took my first ride with them operational today. Super de duper..

Also mounted a tire pump to the lower frame with the existing bottle cage screws. Nice feature of the Radwagon 5 is lots of these frame mounting
points.

Rad Modifications / Radwagon 4 Rear wheel replacem...
Last post by joe2003pc - February 13, 2026, 10:15:21 AM
I came across a deal for a Radwagon 4 frame with accessories for a really good price.  I've been looking for a non electric cargo bike to haul my kids around town.  I'm a cyclist, I can make enough power on my own to get around.

Anyways, the bike doesn't come with the rear wheel, The motor was damaged.  I'm looking for where I can buy a wheel/hub that will fit and I can put my own cassette and shifters on (probably some version of Shimano MTB).

From what I gather, the dropout spacing is 175mm with a 12mm thru axle.  I haven't come a across this in a non ebike format.  Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on this.

I have found that the 22" wheel that came with it doesn't have a lot of tubes/tires available so I'm probably looking for a 20" wheel.

Rad Modifications / whip light with onboard batter...
Last post by Gradius - February 04, 2026, 02:14:27 PM
Hi all,

I've been searching for an appropriate whip light for a rad expand.  I was wondering if anyone had any luck or has tried to use the onboard battery through a 48v -> 12v adapter to power the whip, if that was even possible, and if anyone had some helpful instructions on how to do it.

I've found a variety of good whips, but I don't want to have to mount an additional 12v battery somewhere on the bike to power the lights.

Honestly, it would be really cool if they just came up with a light adaptor with USB connections to plug lights into, but I digress.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Are they willing to provide the replacement for free? I was told that I'd have to buy a warranty part myself and file a claim against the company.

Court approved the sale...

Yes, a court hearing to approve the asset sale was held on
January 30, 2026. While the transaction was formally set for official approval on that date, it is characterized as the final step before the deal closes, which is expected by mid-February 2026.

I have been receiving regular emails from Rad customer support regarding my cracked display. They have been searching the dealer network to find one for me. Encouraging The company will survive and treat customers well.

I had contact with them back in 2021 and it never worked out to review one of the Life EV models. I did some digging and there is little information out there. At one point in 2025 it seemed they were trying to bring a low cost brand to market (Cix Cycles) but I couldn't find any updates of progress there. I guess we'll see...
