I receive tons of emails from ebike and battery manufacturers. This most recent one caught my eye as they are claiming it is a replacement battery for Rad Power Bikes that fit the same cradle. Note I have zero affiliation with the seller nor can comment at all on the quality of the packs. Simply passing along the information and photos.

From the email I received "This is our new model, same mount plate as rad power bikes. U009 48v 14.4ah LG4800mah-21700 cell 30A bms 2A charger 214USD. Lead time about 5 days. Shipping cost by air to US:85 USD including clearance, tax, 10-12days, door to door. Max specification:48v 20ah/52v 17.5ah."

If they are genuine Unit Pack Power batteries, then there is little to be concerned about. They have a good reputation and are a favorite among quality e-bike builders. I have three of them myself, and all have been top notch and dead reliable. A friend of mine has a custom bike that goes 71mph, and UPP batteries are usually what he has on his high performance bikes.

hey, i just wanted to say how much I appreciate this post re UPP batteries.

I'm in the midst of shopping for tires for my RR6+ (rear DEFINITELY needs replacing), and the next upgrade is a battery. I was looking at one of the Pocket Rockets from Bicycle Motorworks, but really like the look of some of these UPPs, and the endorsement obviously helps.

Now, to figure out which battery is best for me, AND where the heck I plug it in on the bike (i'm not looking to run the batteries in tandem, but rather plug and play when the regular battery runs low on long trips.)

Any update on experience with this battery?

They agreed to send one but I'm just swamped at the moment so I couldn't accept it and commit to a video. Perhaps someone else will take the plunge.

None of those are the integrated battery of the Rad City 5

EnergyGuy

While looking for a replacement battery for my RadWagon, I found a vendor that rebuilds e-bike batteries.  Does anybody have any experience with this kind of product?

Tony

I bought one of these for my mini 4 it?s just arrived with the wrong connector plug so I can?t use the cradle. I ordered it to match the original connector to Rad bike.
The 52 volt battery won?t fit if you have a rear rack mounted and if I find a way to get around that problem it looks like I will need to modify the front of the rear fender to create a bit more room.

OK, I bought one of theses batteries

However, in my excitement, I ordered the biggest size wanting more range, but didn?t think about the size.  So, bummer, it doesn't fit between the two down frames where the factory one fits.  I did test the battery and it plugs into the existing socket and the computer accurately reads the charge, so all good there.  I?m making a mounting plate and will mount the new battery on top of the top down frame.  I?ll send pics when it?s done.  Saved LOTS-O-MONEY and now have plenty of range for my Sunday rides.
