Rad runner 2 drive issues

Hey guys/gals!

Im very new to the e-bike community, just bought a Radrunner 2 at a great price with no battery. Purchased a new battery from amazon and wired it myself. (Im a 20+year Master BMW technician)

Everything works great but when I ride it it does this strange thing where it seems like the hub goes into brake mode after full throttle. The bike has to come to a complete stop and then will reset and let me pull off again.

Has anyone experienced this issue? seems very strange as everything else works great on the bike...
