Group Rides / New e-Bike Trail Guide for Pla...
Last post by radmac - May 10, 2026, 10:52:56 PM
Hey everyone,

I wanted to share something that may fit well here, especially for anyone who enjoys planning group rides or discovering new places to ride with friends.

My new book, Ride America: The BEST e-Bike Trails Coast to Coast, is now live on Amazon. I created it as a guide for riders, families, travelers, and groups looking for scenic, ride-worthy e-bike trails across the country.

A lot of us are always looking for that next great route. Something fun, accessible, scenic, and worth turning into a shared ride. That was one of the reasons I put this book together. It is meant to help people find trails that could become weekend rides, travel stops, club outings, family adventures, or even bucket-list group rides.

If your group is looking for fresh ride ideas or you just want inspiration for future e-bike adventures, I'd be honored if you checked it out.

I'd also love to hear from the group: what is one trail you think would make an amazing e-bike group ride?

18mm isn't a terribly common size.  I've seen them used in cars, but not much elsewhere.

If you can't find a torque wrench that does NM, you can convert it to ft lbs here: https://nmtoftlbs.com/

Hello, I'm looking for a motor replacement for my mini4. I heard the Bafang 750 is a good upgrade.

I recently changed a flat tire and now my motor won't work( yes I checked the connection) I have 2mini's my other bikes motor works with my bike so I'm pretty certain I somehow damaged something.

Radster Trail / Rear bags, Topeak adapters
Last post by Modeg - April 23, 2026, 07:19:12 AM
Hey guys, first time Rad owner, first post...for people that may not know, the Topeak rear bag adapter does work on the factory basket frame. I'm so glad that I didn't have to spend hundreds again just for a convenience. I used blue loctite just to make sure nothing rattles loose.
I did need to find which bolt pattern I wanted and move the arms. I found it easiest to remove the arm brackets and open to full extension then from underneath, mount the arms to the main track. Just a little bit of caution here as the Rad bag frame tubes are beefy, the adapter arms won't sit flush back on the Topeak frame however being plastic they flex... just be careful when tightening to not break (part of the reason I used locite) because it's all plastic, not aluminum like the OE Topeak rack but I think it will do it's one simple job... for $25 I'm not going to complain.

Service & Repair / Re: Error code 21 - Rad Rover ...
Last post by MikeC - April 19, 2026, 03:59:32 PM
Quote from: AldobaroniSocal on December 16, 2025, 12:50:18 AMHi everyone, hoping to get some advice from anyone who's dealt with this before.

I recently picked up a RadRover 6+ used and it's throwing Error 21 on startup. The display boots normally through the RAD sequence, then once it hits the speed screen it flips to an oscillating 21. The bike will not assist.

Here's what I've already tested to rule things out:
I unplugged the tail light and the error stayed.
I unplugged both brake cutoff switches and the error stayed.
I swapped in a known good display from another working RadRover 6+ and the error stayed.

One brake-related issue I still have is that only the right brake lever activates the rear brake light. The left lever does not, even though the front brake itself works mechanically. The rear brake is weak and likely needs a bleed, but I understand the hydraulic issue is separate from the electrical brake cutoff.

At this point I'm trying to determine if this is a controller issue, wiring harness issue, or something less common like the motor. I do have another working RR6+ and I'm planning to try swapping components to isolate the fault.

If anyone has had Error 21 persist after ruling out the display, brake switches, and tail light, I'd really appreciate hearing what the actual fix ended up being.

Thanks in advance for any insight. I'm trying to avoid throwing parts at it if possible.

Did you ever solve the error 21 problem?

So I'm just wondering, what happened to peanutbutterpope and the "Double your battery life" thread. It was started by DickB who made a device and then peanutbutterpope was going to take over the production... and then the thread died out.

Double your battery life

Anyone know what happened to that project? I'd be interested in buying one or something similar.

Thanks

Service & Repair / Radwagon 4 motor replacement
Last post by RudyAF - April 16, 2026, 07:38:36 PM
A few of the wires leading into the motor of my RADWAGOn 4 are broken right where they enter the axle of the hub. Purchased a used and abused RADWAGON 4 and would like to repair this. BAFANG MOTOR. Replacement motors are not available from RAD as you probably know since they went into receivership. I am willing to try and resolder the broken wires and looking on advise on how to gain access to them. Second option is to find another motor I can drop in without having to cut the  big proprietary 9 pin connector that is connected to the hub motor.

I have recently acquired a Rad runner utility 2020 model. It doesn't have a digital display. Is it possible to reprogram it for higher speeds over 20mph?
