I'm having nothing but trouble with my Nutt brakes and I think I will upgrade to the Tektro HD E350 brake kit. I know they are a direct bolt on, but what is with all the washers under my rear caliper? I have 2 on the top and about 4 under the front and 2 under the back of the bracket. Is this really necessary?

I am looking too, but I haven't contacted Rad yet. My locksmith said he can't help, but if I had a blank I get he could.

This has been discussed several times, but I thought I'd share my experience. I did not want to pay $120 for the Rad rack after shipping and taxes and decided I could make this work. This is the Ibera IB RA5 model, which when mounted with the stock bars on the frame mounts just doesn't work well, and I thought about fabricating my own longer bars or shortening the rear mounts when I came across this post mount. This is the Ibera Bike Seat Post Clamp Rack Mount Adapter that I got from Amazon, and it worked out great. I even had to raise the rear mounts to the middle hole to get it level without cutting the bars!
I did cut the spacers for the rear mount in half and shortened the bolts accordingly, which is pretty easy to do. Please excuse the messy shop and some out of focus pictures!

I realize that this is an old thread, but I am going to attempt the same thing with the Radrover 6 Plus I am picking up in a couple days. It took me a while to realize what the OP did, but I think I get it now. If those legs are hollow all the way up, I plan to try cutting them shorter, re-drilling the holes and using the rod that goes into it. Is there something I'm missing here?
