It seems to be a fairly even split between the models, given the relatively small sample size .   I am looking at purchasing a second bike, the Rad Mini ST to go with my Rad Runner, but not until next spring.

As I understand it there is a way to temporarily disconnect the throttle.  Simply temporarily disconnect the throttle line (at throttle end) from the power.  I believe this is discussed on the ERB review of the new Rad Rover Step-Thru from last fall.   
However, as my girl friend has discovered (she is back on a bike for the first time in 25 years), the throttle is useful to get moving initially.  Your wife might find it helpful to use the throttle in the same manner.   In any case, have fun enjoying your new Rad Bikes   .

  I am glad to hear they have started to arrive!  Can't wait to hear the online reviews from different folks like EBR.    I am in Northern British Columbia and am expecting delivery next month.   My girl friend just received her Rad Runner, what an awesome bike.  Part of me wishes I had ordered two Rad Runners (I would be riding now instead of typing),  but anticipation is part of the fun!

For sale,  New Rad Runner Expresso Passenger Package upgrade kit available.  Awaiting delivery of my Rad Runner Plus next month. Can't wait as my girl friend who rides a Rad Runner keeps leaving me in the dust when biking uphill.

In the meantime I have ordered a Topeak MTX Trunk bag and MRI-Denver MTX deck plate which I will find far more useful.  As my girl friend has ordered the same she will not be able to use the passenger package.    Therefore, I have a brand new, never used, Expresso Passenger Package for sale.  Note:  I am keeping the handlebar grips.
