700 Miles, Going Strong!
I've learned the three best aftermarket modifications that make the Radster Road much more comfortable are Ergon Grips, Ergon Seat, and Schwable AI Grounder tires. The ride position for both the grips and the seat is dialed in perfectly. I have found that that about 40psi is ideal. I predominately ride in PAS mode 2 and Mode 2. With these two settings I can ride ~57 miles, no problem. I do use throttle to assist when crossing at streetlight on busy roads...less time spent in front of cars or potential red light runners.
I also added mirror on the left side. Helps me seeing the "Green Belt Zoomers" ...you know those folks that are e-bike riders doing 20+ mph on a shared use pedestrian/bike bath.
Overall I have done zero maintenance thus far. Probably could use a chain cleaning. The derailler is working fine, crisps shifts. Brakes are still quite good, no squeals or spongy lever action. The brakes are quite powerful and quiet. Enjoying the small rear rack and bag, great for small shopping runs to the grocery store or nearby hardware store. Thought I would use the RFID card to "unlock/activate" but much prefer to use the button press method. I find the button press to be simpler than carrying the RFID card and then digging it out of pocket every time I start or restart a ride.
Overall a Great eBike. Very glad I have waited this long before buying my first eBike.
The 29" wheels are clearly the way to go on an urban cycle.
I test rode a Radster Trail recently...it was so very mushy in steering and ride..I prefer a 2.5"x 29" sized tire setup.
