RadRover / Re: Car bike rack for a Rad Rover 5
January 15, 2021, 04:37:40 PM
I have the Northern Tool Ultra Tow.  200 lb capacity.  Like the use of pins to ensure the adjustable hold down hooks for the frame, and they are secured by a wire lanyard so no fumbling.  The treaded hitch pin prevents wobble in the receiver.  $160 but look for discount coupon.

I'm in my 60s.  Tried a cloud 9, returned it and pleased with the extra wide YLG on Amazon.  Mostly street cruising.

General Chat / Price drop on Savior heated gloves
January 15, 2021, 04:29:01 PM
Amazon has a price drop on Savior heated gloves S66b.  The raised touch screen finger part helps hit the PAS buttons unlike other bulky gloves.  Wife and I very pleased even though we paid more

Or ask Rad if ok to wait on battery balancing for that period of time.  Helpful folks on the phone.

Service & Repair / Bad Controller
January 15, 2021, 04:00:20 PM
Intermittent power with PAS and throttle on Radrover 5 at 120 miles with intermittent Code 25.  Called Rad and their troubleshooting identified a bad controller.  Received new controller and wiring harness in 5 days.  Main hassle was the four wires crammed in the frame grommet opening.  Removed the rubber grommet (a pain) and used string on the old wire to pull new wire down.  The lower controller mount screw was a tight fit, so removed the battery tray for a straight shot on those soft metal phillips head screws.   In hindsight I should have used the $60 Rad approved for LBS labor.  Pleased to say the Rad customer service exceeded my expectations.

General Chat / Re: Ultra-tow hitch rack

I was impressed with the threaded tube for the threaded hitch pin to tighten up any wiggle in the receiver.  I may drill a second pin hole closer to the rack to reduce stand off distance from my truck tailgate.

Did you have to pry open the rubber plug sheath a little to insert?  Thought my non rad cable was wrong size until I realized this trick.

General Chat / Savior heated gloves, easy Rad button push
December 07, 2020, 01:54:30 PM
Savior heated gloves arrived and the raised arch for the touch screen contact makes it easy to push the Rad Power and PAS buttons.  That was my only concern when ordering.  Been using an older pair for 2 years on atv and a good product.  3 heat settings and dual plug charger.  Hope this helps someone.

Rad Modifications / Low height suspension seat post?
November 20, 2020, 11:18:28 AM
Really like the Suntour suspension seat post, but the added 4 inch height on my RR5 is a bit too much when dismounting with the seat post fully down.  Any recommendations of a suspension post with a lower profile?  Thanks in advance.

Second the Milwaukee M12 heated gear.  Have the jackets and hoodies.  Several other good heated glove brands.
