Title: 3D Printed Accessories for Rad Power Bikes
Post by: Ryan on August 13, 2019, 10:59:22 AM
I have seen the thumb throttles before but there are some interesting additions here! Anyone else 3D printing parts? Similar to the GoPro mount it would be awesome to have it wrap around the side and have holes for standard water bottle cages similar to what MRI-Denver sells (only cheaper).

I have bought 4 Red thumb throttle levers from 1859 Northwest and really like them. Gave a few as gifts and they love them too.  I can't see riding without one now.

Yep, I have heard good things about the 1859 ones as well though I think they are a bit overpriced. For those interested here are some links to thumb throttles. In addition to the options below I've seen people use zip ties and hose clamps with success.

1859 Northwest thumb throttle:

Also, jumping off my original post about the water bottle holder. One of the members of the community designed this. I got one printed and it is awesome. Might consider doing a quick video showing it. Much cheaper than the MRI-Denver option.

looking at this from my perspective (retired engineer), I'd ask what longevity can one expect from 3D printed parts. as a longtime motorcyclist, the Cramp Buster wrist throttle rocker was a popular accessory with decent service life. here's an example. one could easily reshape this with heat and hand tools if necessary.

Shout out to member Thingscycle who created this 3d printed wall and battery mount for Rad Power Bikes. I could see this coming in handy since our battery always seems to end up in random spots around the house.

It is now on Thingverse if you want to print one yourself: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4273767 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4273767)
