Hi all, I decided to create an accompanying YouTube channel for the forum. I am hoping in time I can produce some interesting videos, product videos etc.

Here is my first video. If you like it please subscribe to the channel and I'll be sure to keep the videos coming. Let me know If you have any feedback or ideas for different videos you'd like to see!

A few more videos have been posted in recent weeks. It is a bit more challenging to do videos in winter but I am doing my best to cover topics that I think are valuable for people new to electric bikes. I've also been working on getting some products for reviews. I recently received the Monkeylectric M232R which is a really neat spoke light. Here it is on Amazon if you're curious https://amzn.to/2uC43eS (https://amzn.to/2uC43eS) That video should be out within the next week. I'm also hoping to do a review of the RadRover Step-Thru in the next couple of months. Stay tuned and thanks to everyone who has subscribed.

I am working on lining up some more products to review, but here is my latest. The Monkeylectric wheel lights get my stamp of approval and definitely add to the fun factor. They are not inexpensive at around $60 but the quality seems much better than some of the cheap options I've come across. I also liked that the version I reviewed had a rechargeable battery. It was fun to dig into these during winter and get them installed before spring when they'll see more use. Here they are on Amazon: https://amzn.to/37BZNe4 (https://amzn.to/37BZNe4)

Hi everyone, here are my most recent videos and I have some more videos in the hopper that I'm really excited about. The first video below I discuss the pros/cons of each Rad Power Bikes model. In the second one I review the Thule Yepp Maxi child seat. As always I appreciate those of you who have subscribed to the channel. It truly keeps me motivated in creating more content. Enjoy!

Beyond my last video on the RadRover Step-Thru I also recorded some first person footage on some really slushy snow. This is probably the worst conditions you can imagine, even for a fat bike. There were parts where the snow was more packed and the fat tires handled very well. I also did a video on the Fremont pannier bags offered by Rad Power Bikes. These are really nice bags and can hold a decent amount but they are also pricey. Enjoy!

A few weeks ago I got my bike ready for spring. The first video below might give you some ideas if you're bored at home (after a bike ride of course) to get your bike looking and functioning like new again. I also recently rebranded my YouTube channel from Rad Owners to Ebike Escape. While I'll continue to cover and support Rad Power Bikes, I wanted my branding to reflect a broader range of ebikes. Nothing is changing with this forum. If you haven't already please consider subscribing to my YouTube channel (over 90% of views are from non-subscribers) and also check out the website www.ebikeescape.com (http://www.ebikeescape.com)

I'm working on some more videos on accessories and should be checking out some new ebikes as we get into summer.

I have recently been digging into the moto-style ebikes. Obviously Rad Power Bikes has the RadRunner and Super73 which is another popular brand has an entry level model priced at $1,150. In the first video I compare the RadRunner to the Super73-Z1.

I have also been busy either buying accessories I want to review or in some cases reaching out to companies to see if they will send me an accessory to test out. Abus sent me the Bordo Big 6000 Alarm which is my latest video. It is a frame mounted folding lock which has a loud 100 dB alarm. While the price is high, I was really impressed with the quality and I think it is worthy of consideration. Hope you enjoy.

Wish I have known these kind of folding locks with alarm existed - now I got one folding lock and brake disc lock with alarm... Perhaps I will sell both and buy this ABUS... :) Good review!

Thanks! I was pretty impressed and even better they sell a non 'big' version of the Bordo with an alarm. It's quite a bit cheaper at least on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2KZbYrB (https://amzn.to/2KZbYrB)

I think the convenience for not having to hassle with a separate alarm is a no brainer for some people.

As previously mentioned I've been looking at other brands of ebikes and a brand that jumped out at me was Ride1Up. They definitely play in the same area as Rad Power Bikes as far as value goes though they only focus on commuter style ebikes. I reached out to the company and they told me they were launching two new models. I decided to compare the now four models to dig into what you're getting for the money. Haven't ridden one, but definitely worthy of consideration.

Also, along with the ABUS Bordo Big 6000 I got to review a floor anchor by ABUS. This is a product that could make a lot of sense in certain circumstances. Enjoy!

Two more videos to share but first I want to thank everyone who has subscribed to my channel. I just crossed 500 subscribers and subscriber count is a main metric that companies look at to determine if it is worthwhile for me to review their products. Please consider subscribing if you have not already.

The first video below is about a multi-tool you may want to consider for your electric bike. It is what I wish I would have purchased when I first got my RadWagon. One of the benefits is that it comes with a spoke wrench which fits the 12 gauge spokes on all Rad Power Bikes models.

The second video is about financing your ebike. Perhaps not as applicable to the folks here since most already have a Rad Power Bike but something to think about if you're looking at buying another ebike. I also have blog posts on all of my videos over at my website: https://ebikeescape.com/ (https://ebikeescape.com/)

Two more videos to share. The first is a review of the ABUS Pedelec 2.0 helmet. ABUS makes a lot of different helmets but the Pedelec is geared towards ebikes, something that I haven't seen before. It meets standards which were specifically made for the increased speed of ebikes. The other cool thing is that the Pedelec 2.0 (and many of the other ABUS urban helmets) have built in LEDs. The other video is about the RadWagon 4 which was just recently announced. I think the changes are great though I think it's important to be aware of the smaller wheel size. If you plan to buy the RadWagon 4 I'd have a stock of tubes and perhaps a set of spare tires. I'm really hoping I get to compare the two RadWagons side by side.

In continuing the helmet trend I recently had the chance to review the Thousand Heritage helmets. These are pretty popular choice given their unique styling so check out the video below if you're curious. The second video is in response to a question from someone who was asking what affordable ebikes they should consider. You won't be surprised to see the RadRunner making the list.

This was very helpful. Would you know if the discounts would still apply if I were to finance my bikes?

Hi Jennica, since the financing option is just a payment type you can still apply a discount code. At the moment I believe the gift card discount is the only one available. I recently published two videos that might be of interest to those on the forum. The first is on the popular hitch mounted electric bike rack from Hollywood Racks. It works great and I've been happy with it though as with all electric bike racks they can be a bit pricey. From my searching though Hollywood Racks comes in a little cheaper given some can approach $1000. The other video is about the most popular accessory I see folks purchase for their electric bikes: mirrors. Hafny sent me several of their offerings so if you're looking for a mirror you can get an idea of all the varieties available. I am partial to the handlebar mounted as opposed to bar end and the clear glass instead of the blue glass. Enjoy!

Good video Ryan, thanks! Is just drained my battery yesterday to 60%, and plan on using my second battery during the winter for the sake of saving wear and tear on the original. I just purchased a Luna charger with options for charging to 80, 90, or 100%. It has voltage display so you can also turn it off at whatever voltage you want.

In case anyone is curious, I've included a few key percentages and their specific voltages for 48 volt batteries.
100% = 54.6 volts
80% = 51.48 volts
70% = 49.92 volts
50% = 46.8 volts
25% = 42.9 volts
1% = 39.16 volts
0% = 39.0 volts

Thanks for the video, Rad does not make it easy to see this bag option on their site. Do you think a 13" laptop in a zip-up cover would fit safely in these bags? It's about 11"x14"x1". Do you think using one bad that is heavily loaded makes bike balance difficult for a new rider/commuter? Trying to determine if left right weight ballence is important with pannier bags.

Hi,

What is your recommandation for winter tire for the Radwagon 4?
Since they are custom size, it seems to be impossible to find a perfect fit.

Hi Windward, apologies for the delay. Rad gives dimensions of 13" x 14.1" x 6.5 so it might be a tad tight. I think it all depends on how much weight you put in each side. If you're filling to capacity with heavy groceries then you will be able to tell. We always try to balance them when we are at the farmers market.
