I agree with the last poster. It looked pretty straightforward. The only thing I question is how easy it is to remove and reinstall the grips.

Secondly, it?s interesting you brought up standup pedalling. Is that possible on pedal assist? I thought one of the reasons people get an e-bike is to eliminate hard pedalling.

super easy to remove the grips.  just use alcohol in a spray bottle and a trim tool to open the grip a bit..squirt the alcohol in and star twisting.

Hello, I have recently purchased a Rad City 5+ commuter and I am looking to change the handlebars to a straighter more aggressive handlebar. Like the ones on the HS 6. Are these bars inter-changable? The current bars are for cruising, not really good fro more aggressive hill climbing. I like to stand up when hill climbing to get more torque and require less battery power/ drain to get up the hills. I live in Victoria on Vancouver island and we have plenty of hills to climb here.

You should be able to.  I changed the bar on my RR5 ST.  You just need to make sure you get the right stem size to fit your bike.

Answering my own post..lol..finally found one that does fit from Electro Bike World.
Paired with the upgraded 750w motor..damn what a difference!  Haven?t tested the range but got up to 41mph today.

Not crazy about the new colors.  Black and White should always be available colors.
I kinda' like the green on the Radster, but only because of how it goes nicely with the brown tire sidewalls. Sort of an "L. L. Bean" vibe.
I think they missed an opportunity by not giving it the brown faux-leather saddle and grips, even if only as an option to select at checkout.

Agreed, I like the green too and yes they should?ve mixed in the brown accents.
You're right about black and white. Easy to find matching touch-up paint, if for no other reason.

Trying to understand if this kit allows you to plug both batteries?  Then does it drain one battery then auto switch to the 2nd one?

Selling these brand new Ergon GP-3 grips.  Decided they weren't for me.  They are size Small.  Still boxed, never even took them out.
Asking for $40 shipped to anywhere in the US only.

Reporting back:  The https://electrobikeworld.com/products/rad-power-6-upgrade-kit works well on the Rad Runner 3+, and now I can use either the stock 48v battery or my 52v battery.

I noticed they have 2 different kits, is there a difference other than the price? Looks like the controller size is a bit different as well.  Are the specs different?  Or 1 just fits the RR3+ better than the other one?

One says a RAD 6 upgrade the other does not.  Probably the 6 upgrade is the one as I think your bike has the same setup.  The other one is probably prior to RAD change over.

Look at Area 13 website and see the differences.  They say which models will work with their controllers.

Ah ok thank you man, appreciate the help!

UPDATE:  I got the https://electrobikeworld.com/products/rad-power-6-upgrade-kit and this worked juust fine on my RadRunner 3+.  Stock 500w motor is happily dirven w/ either the 48v or 52v battery.

Wait doesn?t the RR 3+ come with the 750w motor?
I think Rad called some Bafang motor 750 watt when that may have been the peak wattage.  I have seen some YouTube videos of putting a real 750 wattage Bafang in Rad Mini 4. In a side by side comparison there is a significant size difference.

Ah man really?  Bleh I think I'm still gonna get the RR 3+ for the wifey though.  Was  just hoping not having to swap the motor

General Chat / Re: 1UP Bike Rack NOT UP to the Task

The QuikRstuff Mach2 rack uses a smooth aluminum bar that uses friction to lock in place instead of the grooves you find on the 1UP arm.  Makes it easy to adjust one or more (e)bikes back/forth and get a tight tire lock on (e)bikes of various wheelbases, tire heights, tire width, and w/ or w/o fenders. I drove +6 hours from Denver to Albuquerque with a 88lbs 4.8" fat tire Himiway Cobra Pro full suspension mid drive at hwy speeds of 75-85 mph with zero issues with the QuikRstuff Mach2 Rack.

Very cool..thanks for sharing this rack.  I would?ve never known.  I think this is the rack Im gonna get!

Anyone experience this b/c I'm considering getting a 1up.  My other concern is how do the "wheel bars" lock over the fenders??

The inventor of the 1UP bike rack started his own company called QuikRstuff.  I have the option with the Quik Rack to adjust the arm with no tools under the fender OR secure on top of the fender.  I like to secure the arm just under the flimsy plastic rear fender on my wife's Radcity step thru.

The Quik Rack Mach2 looks very similar to the 1UP bike rack with improvements for ease of use:
- no tools needed to install
- all adjustments for different (e)bikes sizes w/ or w/o fenders can be made without tools
- the tray are made for 5" fat tires and 56" wheelbase or less (min wheelbase 11 inches)
- install/uninstall takes few minutes, fold for easy storage,
- 28lbs for hitch tray and 22lbs for each additional tray
- smooth adjustment guides arms for easy adjustments
- 120lbs max for 1st rack, 240lbs total for dual racks, and 300lbs to 3 installed racks, and 185lbs total if you have 4 trays installed
- license plate holder

https://quikrstuff.com/

Downsides:
- made in USA expensive
- takes around 2 months to ship
- your CC is charged at order time

Below pic of 2016 Radrover and 2023 Radcity step thru with Quik Rack Mach2.  Didn't have to reduce weight, adjust pedals, adjust/remove seat, or remove rack bag.

Damn this looks nice and looks like he addressed all the issues of the 1up.  What about the teeth issue the op of this 5read talked about?
