I did a 50 mile out and back road trip this weekend with mostly, high end acoustic riders. Lots of Giant, Trek, Specialized and other carbon framed bikes. Good riders all. Anyway, on the downhills, they would fly past me as I pedaled like a maniac to go above 27 - 28 mph. And, I would go past them on the uphill portions at about 15 - 18 mph. Elevation gain of 1648 ft on the way out and 24.7 miles.
The only way I could get my Rad City to go above 24.7 mph is in PAS 0. And even then, it seems the bikes controller wants to bog down a bit at 25 mph. And then I have to change PAS level on the uphills! Ugh!
Good long ride though. The City was not made to compete with those high end bikes though. It was nice that they included me in their ride! The hills of Missouri can be very difficult!

No, I never did change the chainring out. The controller seems to limit my speed to 24.7 mph anyway. I can coast or pedal on PAS 0 above that limit though. I have been as fast as 28 - 29 mph in PAS 0, but once PAS is a 1 - 5, it will limit speed. Oh well! Thanks for asking again.

Mine have lasted so far! Although, I haven't bashed too many rocks or roots with the bottom bracket so far!

I have both a Rad City ST & Reg. frame. The ST is easier to mount, but I prefer my Reg. frame for riding. The geometry is very different on both bikes, and it "feels" solid. That being said, I am 6 ft tall, weigh 260 and ride fast and hard. My wife rides her ST a lot, but at a more casual clip. Some of the decisions may be due to where and how you ride.  And, of course, your experience level!
Today, on my ride into work, 11 miles w/ 590 ft. elevation gain, my avg. speed 16.4 mph, max speed 28.6 mph in PAS 0 down a big hill, and total time 39.5 minutes.

Bolton E Bikes have great products. Juiced E bike do too! I choose Rad as I have three Rad bikes and the batteries fit all. And, the price was right!

I've had a few interactions with Rad Service. E mail seems to be the best / quickest way to get a response. E mail, get the automated response, and then a service person will follow up. Good descriptions and photos of the issue really help! In both cases, my issue was resolved within a week or so. And then there is a follow up response from service to assess how things went.

I visit and spend money at my local bike shop here in St. Louis, MO. WheelHouse Bicycle's and the owner Nathan & Sam are very helpful and not derogatory towards E-Bikes. They are sure that good service and customer care will ensure their continued survival! And of course, I give them a shout out frequently for what they do! 

I weigh 275 and have a lot of equipment added on to my Rad City. I've had no issues.  Frequent and proper maintenance will alleviate many weight related issues: spoke care, derailleur adjustment, tire inflation and brake adjustment. Good luck and have fun.

As far as I know, the Rad City is the only model the ABUS Cafe lock and chain works with. Maybe Rad will add it for additional models. I think the Rad Mission would be a perfect fit.

I've had the two Rad City bikes, wife's ST and my Reg. frame, since July.
Got my Rad Rover yesterday. I'm in St.Louis if anyone want to join up for a ride next week.
Anyway, Unboxing & Set up was unremarkable. Box did have a hole the size on a foot, but no damage that I could ascertain.  Added rear rack, which may have been tweaked from factory, but it's on nice and tight now. Put on the MYZRAH pedals from Amazon, best $25 you'll spend, and rear pack bag to carry necessary tubes, tools etc.
The rear derailleur adjuster needs slight turning to get proper chain alignment with all the gears. Try in 7th gear, spin through each gear and adjust the barrel adjuster to limit noise and ensure smooth shifting. Should take about 30 min. Or a good local bike mech. can do the same for $20.
Saddle and handlebar adjustment is key for comfortable riding! I have to move the saddle back, check 6mm bolt underneath saddle twice before it felt good. Same with the handlebar and stem.
The Rover really does feel different for the Rad City. Time to RIDE! 

We have two Rad City, one ST and my Regular frame. We also have the Overdrive Sport 2 bike hitch that we have on our class 4 hitch, Ford Flex. No issues whatever with the rack and both bikes mounted. We remove the batteries prior to mounting them, The ST is a bit heavier, so it mounts closer to the Flex. We face them in opposite directions, strap them in with a few bungie cords along with the hook mounts for the rack. Have had no issues. We use the accessory bar for the ST as it's frame won't allow the rack hook to securely contain it. We used some of the high quality foam that cam with the bikes to prevent frame from getting scratched by the accessory bar. Best of luck with your choices!
