RadWagon / Re: Radwagon Cargo 2019? repla...

still trying to find a replacement rear wheel + motor.
I had everything working and all was well until I tried to go up a very steep hill and the motor overheated. after walking up the hill and finding a nice cool breeze I let the bike sit for an hour and now it will do a 1/4 turn if that then stop.

so now I am messaging area13 / electric bike world for advice for a repalcement wheel + motor.

out of all the bike shops in my area Burnaby BC Canada I have only found one shop (Bikes for all) that is even willing to touch ebikes. all other palces wish my good luck and then show me the door (even other ebike reseller shops)

Not a fan of talking beavers; it's always surprising and off-putting.

I am back with an update... not a single question at the border about the bikes on the back and no one cared. the bike trails around Vancouver were great. I highly recommend traveling thru the city, downtown, on e-bike just because you will beat the traffic and won't spend money on parking.

RadMission / Re: Will any chain do?
Last post by brotherhaslip - May 14, 2024, 08:37:55 PM
Quote from: John Rose on May 14, 2024, 03:30:02 PMI was going to ask if it falls off when he shifts, or any old time, but it appears that the RadMission is a single speed bike with no derailleur.

I see that radpowerbikes.ca has only one chain for sale, and the description is:

Quote3/32-inch derailleur chain. Cut to length.
Compatibility - All ebike models EXCEPT RadWagon
For customers who own a RadWagon (all model years), please contact us here.
Also, a Radmission chain tensioner replacement guide, at https://support.radpowerbikes.com/Maintenance_and_troubleshooting/Shifting_and_drivetrain/RadMission_chain_tensioner_replacement_guide
The installation and adjustment part could yield some useful info.

Thank you.  On the US site, they don't list much for specifics on the chain.  But I see from your reply that they do list 3/32 on the .ca site.  I ordered a schwin 3/32 chain and a chain tool.  Hopefully he will be able to get the chain swapped out and then we will see how it does.  He did confirm for me that the old chain is very stiff.

RadMission / Will any chain do?
Last post by brotherhaslip - May 14, 2024, 12:20:44 PM
I'm trying to help diag an issue my son is having with the Radmission bike.  His chain keeps coming off.  He is off at college, so I'm doing this over the phone.  I'm guessing he is having issues with the chain tensioner that seem to be common for this model.  I was wondering about having him try a new chain first, because he let the old chain get all rusty.  I'm guessing that bike chains are pretty standard other than they length.  Just wondering if pretty much any chain off Amazon would work, or do I need to look for certain specs.

you should probably check the serial number on some of the stolen bike sites like Bike Index or Project 529 - if a bike is sold without a battery, it's not unreasonable to suspect the bike might have been stolen.
