Scary!

Maybe the connection was a bit loose and started arching.

The distance the seat rails are apart is "mostly" standard and im guessing the Rad post is a bit narrow and the Serfas is a tad wide. Kinda a drag but once you get the clamp on there it wont come out. Better yet squeeze the rails with vise grips or some other tool just enough that in the relaxed position the rails rest at the right distance then assemble it without a worry at all. It wont take much so don't over do it with tons of force.

The clamp that came with the Serfas seat is for a different kind of seat post. Keep it around for another project some day.

In the parts list for the RR2 if your paying attention you will notice that the rims are no longer listed as Double Wall. This is one of the sneaky ways to cut cost that most customers never see since the tire hides it.

Single wall rims are weaker and cheaper. The RRplus is still listed with double wall but keep and eye out for more cost cuts like this in all models.

Its not totally just so you can get home so to speak. Lithium Ion batteries can fail permanently if discharged 100%. What's most likely  happening is the BMS (battery management system) is kicking in to save your battery from to much voltage loss and catastrophic failure.
The BMS does not limit current. I either enables it 100% or shuts it off completely.  The controller limits current at low SOC (State Of Charge).
Interesting, that's not my experience with LiON battery use in other hobbies. Can you also explain the graph a bit more since it starts out at 54V and Rad Batteries are 48v?

Just finished watching Ryan's YouTube and it's a bit shocking. Apart from the big stuff like, no shocks or LCD, there's a long list of areas where Rad cheaped-out just a little -- nameplate, pant protector, pedals, seat, grips, bell -- all inferior, I think most would agree, to name just a few.

Boy am I glad I got the Mini4 and ST2 a few weeks ago! I was expecting an Expand5 Plus for 1500, I never imagined they'd just bump the price of an inferior product like that. There may still be a Plus for like $1700 with suspension back, but I agree, that gives competitors a lot of wiggle room to provide the bang for the buck.

And still waiting for someone to unmount a tire to check the new style rims. I have a sneaking suspicion they are now single wall construction instead of double wall.

I wouldn't bother with a Carbon post on an already heavy bike. Aluminum in 400m will be fine.

FYI, Rad would never recommend attaching anything to the axle for legal reasons anymore than they would endorse riding with no hands or even 1 hand.

"For safety reasons please come to a full stop, dismount your bicycle then take a drink of water" " Reaching down for a water bottle could cause a loss of control " "Do not use hair dryer in shower" etc etc.

Anyway, millions of trailers including Burley ( The biggest name in trailers for children) attach to the axle. Perfectly safe when done correctly.

I had to send multiple emails to different people about a known recall item (The RRunner chain idler) to get the newly designed one. One suggestion was to adjust the cable tension ?! LOL There is no cable on a chain idler. The RR doesn't have a derailleur that's the RRplus. Did they actually read my email? Did they look up my serial number that THEY asked for?

Then outta nowhere i got a shipping confirmation for the new idler.

Lower your tire pressure to 5-10psi for loose sand.

Pump it back up later or risk a pinch flat on hard surfaces.
