Service & Repair / Re: How common is a controller failure?
September 14, 2021, 08:06:37 AM
Not.  Anything electrical can go wrong no matter the company and they are all from China it seems.
Ordered electrical info box on handlebar when it went out -  part under warranty on 4 Sep - NOW 13 Sep and no part in hand yet!   Tracking number but not delivered to USPS reported...   Warranties are only as good as the company behind them..

RadMini / Stem extension separation
September 13, 2021, 12:14:08 PM
I tried to raise my brand  new RAD mini 4 handlebars and have the extension separate and come off in my hands?  Wow that was scary. Wonder if the screw inside was loose or something else?  Anyone have this happen to them?

RadMini / Re: Rad Mini sale ends, price stays the same
September 13, 2021, 12:10:22 PM
We looked at both and decided to stay with the RAD family too.   We have city bikes and just got 2  Mini's  One a 4 the other a Step thru  this weekend...    Both have the gear driven motor but since we have direct drive motor experience have decided they are faster in the long run side by side up the same hills!!  We both agree.

RadRunner / My RAD city cargo bike
September 01, 2021, 03:03:51 PM
I needed some storage capacity being that kinda guy I am.  Here is my first attempt.   I'm the practical one,  my S/O has covered hers in stickers and matching chah ching bling.    Needing full extension for my 31.5 inch inseam I had to order a 450MM seat post also.

After 1 week and 74 miles I had the same issue.   Kept fiddling with the rear deraillure adjustment and it finally is working as advertized!

General Chat / Re: Does anyone use clip in pedals?

Riding bike with clipless pedal shoes with clips off.   Unsure if it helps or hurts with relaxed riding position.

we are bike riders but the S/O pushed the idea of ebike and living in Seattle after due dilligence for value and features wanted we both went with City bike step thru's as the best of all worlds.    It has reinvigorated our riding that we already loved.   FEAR no hills.    We are a mature couple.

We both have that issue on our brand new City bike 3's.  It has mostly disappeared on hers not on mine.  RAD online article recommended backing out the adjustment wheel one turn clockwise as they cable may be too tight.  We have gear change without input from us.

General Chat / Re: Introduce yourself!

Greetings from two New RAD riders from Olympia WA.   We were riders already but adding in the ebike help has made our outings much easier and can go further now.   Has turned into an expensive hobby with all the extras different from standard bikes.
We just drove down to the RAD store and took the boxes from there and I put them together.

I have a Rad City 3 step thru and only complaint is with 32 inseam I need taller hard to find 450mm seat post.    MY S/O has the white City Step thru at 4ft 10 and she loves hers as is.
