You are getting it at 1/2 price.. worth taking the risk in case you have issues,...  It is a $2000+tax  bike.   I would at that price and I
purchased and put together 4 RAD bikes

Thanks for the good info Jim.  I am not far away south of you..  I imagine this is the upgrade path I will travel one day and bigger chain ring!
As an aside I get asked about my RAD often,  but now consider Lectric bikes as better value alternative Lectric 3.0 when it comes to a folding mini.  Just Sayin..

Hi Liz, I've had my Radex5 for a year now and I've never had any problems with it. I'd take it to a bike shop just to make sure all nuts and bolts are tight. I'm a city rider and love it and I put some suggestions on this group feed on modification  I've had done,
I recommend the ABUS folding up lock and I'm actually looking into the new RAD frame installed lock for wide tires as added protection.
Good luck and happy riding.

Harbor freight has a inexpensive torgue wrench that should suit you.

I had same concern and once I familiarized myself with how it should feel tight and how it worked there were no more issues.  I believe there is a video online I believe from RAD explaining how you can learn to adjust it and make sure it is tight.

Totally Agree..

I spend a lot of time on city trails and the majority of issues with hogging the f***ing road and speeding is the spandex mafia.  I play chicken with the Ahats on "real" bikes in spandex who think they own the F** road and won't move over riding 2-3 abreast at too fast speeds to be safe.

General Chat / Re: "New Rad" CEO Letter - Thoughts?
January 31, 2023, 09:45:55 AM
We bought 4 RAD's in 2021.  Still have the mini's left.  Had no issues with replacing under warranty multiple parts.   I would like to see them make a tire size that is universal not only able to get from them when when in stock -  the 20 x 3.3 tires.   overall I'm pleased but any company that stands still will be passed in this new and expanding market.    When I upgrade there is nothing in the RAD line for me.   I too want lighter weight, more battery and a belt drive.    If the CEO is smart he has someone overseeing forums like this.   I was contacted to be an Ambassador like I am sure many of you have.  Not interested until they have something new to be excited about.

Today, should I replace my RAD mini, the Lectric 3.0 sure looks like a go-er!!!

Of all my mods this is my Favorite!!   I tried all the supposedly better aftermarket seats and ended up most comfotable on the stock seat with ther NTX suspension post.   That and changing to a handlebar more like my City bike bend from Amazon.  It also allows me to fully utilize the rear view mirror.  I am 5 10 and 210 lbs. and utilize full leg pedal extension.

I've had nothing but easy to work with RAD for my mini problems and them sending out warranty parts much quicker than a year ago now!

It is the best improvement I've made adding that suspension seat post!

 Hi Jim,

RAD was a starting point and going forward we look to add a more sophisticated belt drive lighter model that will probably cost a bit more but yu get alot more in the way of sophistication.   All Biz's have ups and downs.  RAD is still very customer contric from my point of view compared to other ebike companies.

Thanks for taking the time to review the upgrade.  Was thinking of doing it along with bigger chain ring when we come off warranty in a few months.

Great comprehensive review.  The best of any I have read.  Good on ya!    I highly recommend the HB's sold off Amazon for comfort and usability of a handlebar mirror.  With the stock HB's I could not see behind me.  I am 5 10 x 215 lbs and muscular.   Including a pic of mine for example.

Game changer with our Amazon SENA helmets (https://amzn.to/3yeQIX8) that also play music from the phone.   Work as good or better than my more expensive MC helmet SENA com!!
