RadRunner / DIY Rad Runner + truck bed rack?
« on: February 22, 2023, 10:50:04 AM »
We purchased two Rad Runner + ebikes a few months ago and we LOVE the bikes!  We've ridden all the local areas within a single battery charge from home.  So we're thinking of expanding our riding area by mounting both RR+ bikes inside the bed of our new Ford Maverick pickup truck to carry our bikes to some nice riding areas beyond that 20-mile range from home.  Can anyone point me in the right direction for any DIY plans for building a 2-bike rack made from 1.5 inch PVC pipe so the bikes are carried standing upright in my short-bed Maverick pickup? The truck has a 120v (40w) plug in the bed so we could even charge the bike batteries while traveling. Suggestions?  Thanks!

General Chat / My first 500 miles
« on: November 15, 2022, 08:53:06 AM »
My wife and I had our matching Rad Runner + bikes delivered on August 31st and a couple days later we had them assembled and ready to ride.  Riding our Rad ebikes has been a much more pleasant experience that I expected!  We spend more time outside in the fresh air and never have to worry about having to get off and push our bikes up our long driveway hill. I've put just over 500 miles on mine so far and the simple joy of cruising along country roads with the breeze in my face is just so quietly relaxing.  My only complaint is that my hands have poor circulation and they get SO cold when the weather is cooler than 50 degrees, it's just not too much fun.  Waiting patiently for Spring!

General Chat / Battery Swap?
« on: October 25, 2022, 08:31:15 AM »
Last August we purchased a matching pair of Rad Runner + ebikes for my wife and I.  I ride my Rad Runner + much more often (and much further) than my wife and therefore charge my battery more often.  Would occasionally swapping her less used battery with my higher mileage battery effect the digital memory on the bikes with regard to each bike's accumulated mileage?

We recently purchased two Rad Runner Plus ebikes and each one came with the Espresso Brown rear passenger seats.  It is highly unlikely that we will ever use these passenger seats so they are up for sale.  Both are brand new in the box with factory mounting bolts included. These seats fit ALL Rad Runner models. Asking $50 for each or $90 for the pair, plus shipping.  Note that the sale does not include the rear foot pegs or clear acrylic spoke protectors.  Email if you are interested:  FiremarshalBill49@gmail.com

Service & Repair / Re: Rad Runner seat adjustment?

I was a bit disappointed with the Rad hot line today when the only advice they could give me was to buy new quick release clamps on my dime.  We bought the bikes brand new less than 3 weeks ago they didn't even offer to spring for a couple of new clamps :-(

Service & Repair / Rad Runner seat adjustment?
« on: June 25, 2022, 10:02:06 PM »
We've had our Rad Runner Plus ebikes for almost a month and we still try to get out for a short run almost every day.  Problem is when ever I hit even a small bump, the seat drops 1/2 to 3/4 inch.  I'm having to stop 2 or 3 times every ride to readjust my seat height.  The seat post lock is as tight as I can get it and still be able to close it. I've got a continuous bruise on my palm from closing the seat post lock! I am a little over 200 lbs.  Any suggestions (besides loosing 25 pounds) for keeping my seat at the height I need?  Thanks.

How To Information / Bike-2-Bike intercom?

Anyone have any suggestions on purchasing a wireless communication system between 2 cyclists?  Something with a range of a hundred yards max.  What's available?  I don't even know where to search on line for such a comm system.  Thanks!

Service & Repair / Upgrading Seats
« on: May 26, 2022, 11:15:05 AM »
We are getting ready to pull the trigger on purchasing two new Rad Runner Plus ebikes, but we want to upgrade the seats to something like Cloud 9 or Bikeroo cruiser seats.  Will either of these new cushy seats require a new seat post for the Rad Runner Plus frame?  Any suggestions for a nice wide and comfortable for us old folks?

Newbies here.  We live on an island about 80 miles north of Seattle and drove down to visit the Rad store in Ballard last week.  We are both in our early 70's and have been considering ebikes for some time now, and after test riding several different Rad models at the Rad Store we decided on purchasing 2 Rad Runner Plus models. Two things we will want to change right away on the Rad Runner Plus models are the factory saddle (way too small for either of us) and replacing the long rear passenger seat with a strap-on panniers bag of some sort.  If we go with something like Cloud 9 or Bikeroo over sized seats, will we also have to purchase a different seat post as well? Thanks for your input.  B&D

Where are Rad bikes made?  All in one country or several different countries?

Is that $300 off each bike, or $300 off the total price if we bought two matching his & hers Rad Rover 6 Plus bikes?

My wife and I are getting close to pulling the trigger on a pair of Rad Power Bikes.  Just waiting for our new Ford Maverick to arrive to see how we would carry the bikes.  Haven't decided on the model yet, but since the Maverick has such a short bed perhaps the folding models might be in order?  We will probably pick them up at the factory store in Seattle as we live on an island north of Seattle.
