Hello Radfriends!  My bike won't turn on.  After turning the key on and pressing the button, the screen will flash on and that is it.  It won't turn on again unless you turn the key off and on again.
I have checked the 5A and 40A fuses and they are intact.
And I can't get any response from Radbikes EU.
HELP!

Yes, Customer Support has been poor lately, Someone will chime in for you soon hopefully,

I thought the lower the TPI the more puncture resistant, And that wire bead was better than the folding tires, Please educate me,
Thanks, Paul

At 3,000 miles I've had my second puncture of my rear Radrunner tire. The first took me months to find because it was a whisker-thin wire.

This was also strange. A quarter inch of wood less than 1mm in diameter, like 20 gauge copper wire. I thought maybe it was the tip of a thorn, which can be very hard and sharp. No this was blunt, and it felt soft, like broom straw. How in the world could it penetrate the tread of a tire?

I find it ironic that the sidewall of the OEM Kendra tire says "puncture resistant casing." The 30 TPI count means low puncture resistance, and the rubber must be especially easy to penetrate.

The green is showing through on the right of the tread. I guess I corner harder on right turns. I've read here about CST Big Boats. Are they the only other option? How are they for puncture resistance?

Depends on the battery you have.  I have a RAD Rover 5.  My manual says 50 - 70 % charge for storage over 2 weeks.

Agree, That's what I do, I have the RadRover 5 also, 2021 model,

I think you are over reacting, If you know how to take care of a bike,  the Rad Bikes are pretty easy. If you do have a warranty issue they may be a little slow, but they will get it resolved.  They had battery issues with their new Rover but have taken care of those,   other than the battery anyone can adjust brakes, seats, shifting mechanics etc.

Thanks Water Doc, The issue is I have all the knowledge, But, I am an older guy and no longer physically able to do repairs, I found 2 shops here in Santa Cruz that would work on my Radrover 5, and they were both terrible mechanics, It was all I could do to fix what they screwed up.

Hi All,
With All the maintenance and warranty issues with on line sales of e-bikes, Rad being one, I am thinking about buying a locally sold e-bike from a brick and mortar business. Only reason being is product support and maintenance work, Any Thoughts?
Thanks, Paul

I am in the market for another e-bike, You know the saying, One is none, And, two is one.  That being said, I am Really doubtful going in Rad's  direction with ALL the bad publicity about customer support, Heck, If one wanted No customer support, Just go to Alibaba and get a comparable e-bike for half the cost, Myself being an old guy, I will probably buy the comfortable looking and stylish Cheetah.

Hi all, Ryan the forum owner here. For new forum members, I also run the Ebike Escape YouTube channel. We just launched our own store selling ebike accessories with the help of BiKASE, a brand which has stood for offering high quality, well designed products. I'm looking for feedback on the store, really anything. What can we do better? What new products would you like to see?

I'm personally a huge fan of the ABC bottle cages and I think the fire resistant/waterproof battery bags are unique. We use them all the time when we store the batteries in our vehicle when we travel - it just helps them not get banged up. Thanks in advance and if you make a purchase I'd also like to hear what you think of our products.

Here is the website: https://shop.ebikeescape.com/

Thanks Ryan,
I Will check it out,
BUT! Could you Please reply to people having issues with in warranty ebikes from RAD? I have read about NO support at all from Rad, And is Rad having problems?
Thanks, Paul

Thanks Paul - I have noticed some of these threads. Nothing going on that I'm aware of but thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Got it Ryan! Thanks for your overseeing our problems and concerns.
Best Regards, Paul

RadRover / Re: New RadRover 6 battery question

Hello all...

I just received a new RadRover 6 this morning and am currently assembling it...  One of the first things I did was check the battery indicator and it showed one bar.  The RadPowerBikes website said it should come 50 to 70 percent charged and that I should be able to take it for a spin after assembly without charging it.  I removed the battery and am charging it without ever using it... but now I am almost done assembling it and I am having a hard time resisting not throwing the batter in and using it..  Just curious if anyone has advice on the battery and doing that without the full 12 hour charge mentioned in the manual for initial charge... seems odd it came nearly empty.

Andy advice would be greatly appreciated before I do anything stupid.  :P

Balancing battery requires three 12 hour charges, From what I have read and done, Putting on about 10 or 15 miles after each 12 hour balancing charge

I have a 2019 Radwagon that has had intermittent power drop issues. Rad sent me a replacement controller last year, but I only got around to installing it last week... turns out they sent me a Wagon 4 controller, which just doesn't work on the 3.

Support from Rad has been unresponsive for over a week, and their phone and chat support doesn't exist any more, so it seems like I'm on my own here.

Also looks like Bolton doesn't exist any more or I'd pick one of their controllers up; other options I've found only work on models up to 2018... any other source out there for first or third party controllers compatible with the 2019 Wagon?

Even further longshot option: Anyone get a Bolton controller and have a spare original working 2019 Radwagon controller they'd be willing to sell?

Try the area 13 website below, Bolton recently changed their name and website, They have been helpful and knowledgable in the past for me,

We're following this pretty closely and it seems more brands are going with UL certified batteries: https://ebikeescape.com/ul-certified-ebikes-batteries-list/

Curious what other's think about a fire resistant fire battery bag? Also one that protects from water.

Evening Ryan,
Is My Radrover #5 bought in the USA in 2021 battery UL Approved?
Thanks, Paul

My wife has the Rad City 5, probably 2 years old, with a Bolton controller. All has worked well until recently.
Occasionally, she will have no pas or throttle power for a second or two, then all is well. I can?t get Rad help due to the controller.
So could it be that the battery is beginning to fail, or the Bolton controller is the issue?
Any ideas would be appreciated!

I have had a similar problem with my 2 year old Radrover 5, (all stock) Mine would give me the exact same response as applying the brakes, To resume all I had to do is touch the brakes and all was good, After a year Rad customer support and myself figured out it was faulty sensors in the brake cables assembly,  To troubleshoot the problem my technique was to disconnect the brake sensor safety  both front and rear for a while, Sure enough, found out  the brake sensors to be the culprit.
Hope this helps, Paul

so what did you do, replace the sensors?

Rad sent me new brake levers to replace stock ones, It did Not fix the problem, Rad told me that the whole batch of brake levers had some issues, Yes, even some of the replacements. So, I am living with the problem since I am now out of warranty, And the fact that Rads customer support has not been up to par lately, My intermittent problem only happens about once per ride with the replacement levers, So I have been living  with it.
