General Chat / Re: Rad Power Bikes New Model Discussion 2024
« on: March 07, 2024, 08:04:26 AM »
If Rad is introducing new models are they going to boost up their call center? I know they did massive layoffs awhile back and some major shifts in management. I loved my RadRunner 1 but didn't replace it with another Rad product when the time came because of all the drama. The new RadWagon 5 looks promising though.

I'm curious as well. I sold my 'Runner and now miss it. I just don't think my wife would like the high passenger pegs on a RadRunner Plus. So I'm holding out till the big reveal! What's your wish list? Mine:  Low passenger pegs, true 750watt motor (or higher?) and possible dual battery option!

Gone. It died a horrible death. No longer available.

4
Lost the nut and the flat washer that bolts to the frame. Now reduced to $400 FIRM.

5
Yup, you guessed it! Didn't feel good that morning and didn't want to dig for the trusted snips and grabbed the wrong pair. Live and learn I guess.

6
Other view of hub wire damage. Blue skinny and white both cut clean thru. PM if interested.

7
Note this is the Class 3 version.

What it looks like.

Brand new, never powered up, complete. I cut 2 wires going into the rear hub and lost interest in fixing it. Being sold AS IS. Not shipping, no parting out either. Located in Norfolk, VA.

General Chat / Re: Passed the RadRunner 1 on to a new owner.

So the guy I gave the RadRunner 1 to is selling it. When I gave it to him he rode it home and that's it, been sitting ever since. So I sent a friend over and she purchased it back for $300 with everything still on it. Mirrors, lock, front rack, rear trunk, both sets of keys. I'm disappointed that the guy I gave it to didn't use it but if he wants to pedal everywhere that's on him I guess. And if he's selling it to pay a bill or something that's on him as well. I thought it would help him branch out his options for a better job and give him a little bit of transportation freedom. So anyways, my friend got my old RadRunner 1 back for $300 and that's a heck of a deal.

SOLD. Thanks for looking!

I pulled this off my RadRunner 1, and re-installed the stock LED display, before passing it on.  I lost the instruction sheet but I suspect that Rads site has a how-to video. It's basically plug and play. Will ship it thru USPS. Asking $20 plus shipping. Call dibs and PM me .

General Chat / Re: Motorcycles and EBikes
« on: February 28, 2022, 07:49:31 AM »
My bikes keep getting smaller as I get older. Used to have a CBR900RR in the early 90's, various bikes afterwards and currently own a Piaggio Liberty 150. My wife has a Honda Silverwing scooter. So I got into ebikes to squeeze in some exercise for my commute to work at 14 miles each way. I now ride the scooter less and less and my wife is selling the Silverwing. Now here's a funny observation.

It seems everyone wants a ebike the goes fast, even if they have zero experience with motorcycles or even a conventional road bike. Then they get a ebike, unlock it and wonder why they crashed at 35mph and complain about their road rash. I've owned a few Class 3 ebikes and found 20mph fast enough for me and my use.

Finally, for reference. I'm 50 years old, no health issues and will still jump on a sport bike when given the chance. And 2 wheels (and 4 wheels for that matter) have never been about outright speed. I just enjoy getting out and enjoying fresh air and taking in the scenery, and stunts if it's a rocket bike! I heal slower now so falling off of ANYTHING isn't fun anymore. I've been tempted to get a Honda Monkey bike just for fun and something different.

RadMini / Re: Mini st “must have” and “nice to have” accessories

Mr. Tuffy and/or Tannus liners, especially on the rear tire.

Quality lock. I like Foldy Locks.

Bottle holder(s).

Extra blinky light for the rear if riding in dark.

Rear rack for bag, basket or trunk. I use SHAD motorcycle trunks.

Helmet that you will wear. Trust me on this!

Seat and suspension post. I have a fragile booty.

Cap to cover the battery terminal when the battery is removed.

I carry the supplied tool kit but added a better wrench for rear wheel removal.

Enjoy your new Rads!
