General Chat / Re: Rad's biggest sale of the year (October 2022)

We bought RadRovers when they were $400 off. Wonder if this means Radpower is in trouble.

I actually sent pics to Rad asking the same question. Never got an answer. Probably due to staffing cuts.

No called and sent messages. Strange because they?ve always been really quick to respond before. Hope I don?t have a problem if customer service has truly gone bad.

RadRover / What is this on my RadRover 6 +?

There are two welded squares on my bike that I can?t figure out. They have three treaded holes on the bottom. I don?t see anything on the web site that might use them.

I've never understood the need to troll. If you don’t like it just sell. Anybody seen a good explanation? I see people post comments they would never say in person sometimes not realizing how something could be taken other times intentionally sarcastic or cruel. To go out of your way like this seems a deeper set problem.

Maybe the easiest way to prove anything is just try it. I'm sure you'll figure it out quickly (no sarcasm intended) and let us know. A simple overnight test will be easy. Don't know if it's bad for the charging system but you would think it would be cautioned against if it's harmful.

General Chat / Re: Anyone using garage pully lift with rad bike

Is your garage ceiling finished? I'd be really concerned about getting the support screws into good wood. In my case it's impossible to get behind the drywall and install enough support to make me comfortable. I'll probably consider some type of shed for our bikes.

Service & Repair / Re: Radrover fork suspension adjustment

Thanks I got it. Kind of like the 80's when everyone selling stereos had an equalizer with frequency slider adjustments. On inexpensive units they really did little to the sound but made you feel like you were doing something.

I'm totally ok with the fork. Just thought it did more than it does. Everything about this bike is really just right for me. I don't need the higher end add ones like hydraulic brakes and fully adjustable forks. It's why the price was so right!

I've seen numerous videos that folks posted upgrading everything brakes, batteries, controllers etc. In some cases they were still less $ output than many of the more expensive brands.

Service & Repair / Radrover fork suspension adjustment

Hello all. I bought a 2019 radrover last christmas and love the bike. Unfortunately there are no instructions on how to adj the preload on the front forks. I watched the Rad video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGl3I0Ez974) and he did nothing except explain the concept. Nothing about how or when to adj. Just "adjust it to your preference" Lockout is pretty straight forward and easy to see how it works. On my bike the preload knob does nothing. I see/feel no change rotating end to end.

Anybody got this figured out. Tons of videos on how to adj a coil fork but they are on more expensive models. I put a tie strap on one leg and again no change in fork travel when I rotate the preload adj knob.

Is the clicking only when riding or can you spin the bike wheel by hand and hear the clicking?

General Chat / Re: Transporting my Ebike
« on: May 08, 2020, 09:42:15 AM »
The weight of the bike dissuaded me from this route. I didn't think it would be fun muscling the bike into the bed. I didn't really think about using a ramp and how hard it would be to get up. My overlook. Bought the Hollywood rack from the rad site. This is pretty heavy to put on the truck but manageable. I don't like the way the bike is secured with the upper hooks but it does work. Pretty expensive and I would try the tailgate protector first before spending $450 on a rack.

Let everyone know how it works when you try it. A good blanket will work for a test.

General Chat / Re: RadRover Step-Thru - What are your questions?
« on: May 08, 2020, 09:33:25 AM »
I agree on everything previously said. We bit on last year's Xmas special and bought a city step through for the wife and a radrover for myself. The size of the radrover is a challenge for me at 66 to mount. Have to really lay the bike on it's side to get on. When the radrover step thru came out I wished I had waited to order one for the wife. I thought it probably would have been a better choice for me but it's a girls bike... The more I rode the more I thought I should have gotten the step thru for myself. I'll get used to the regular radrover but I do agree it's probably a better choice for many regardless of gender.
