Rad Modifications / Re: Best Mods for Speed

Sadly, it does not work for RadExpand 5 (with the LCD Display Upgrade) nor the RadMini ST2. You can change the setting with the Sekrit Menu, but it does not actually go any faster.
I might actually be wrong about the RadExpand 5 with LCD Upgrade.  :-[
The last time I went out I seemed to be hitting 38 kph on throttle-only, but I can't be sure it was a perfectly level road, there might have been a tail wind, etc.

Here's something else I just thought of: If you hook up an LCD display to a RadExpand 5, change the setting, and then re-install the original LED display, does the controller remember the modified setting?
I'll have to try that too, and use a GPS app for the speedometer. Just move the cable connector and clamp (or duct tape) the LED display next to the other one.
There's a nice stretch of level paved road between some corn fields nearby. I'll have to do the test in both directions like they do on the dry lake bed land speed record runs.

Front wheel or back wheel?

"the round metal center" - Brake rotor? Motor? Hub?

How are the brakes? Maybe a bent rotor, or caliper knocked out of alignment.

Something is causing that resistance. Find a way to lift the wheel and spin it slowly to locate the odd sound/resistance.
That sounds like the best way to start.
For one thing, see if the resistance is the same throughout the rotation, or only in one spot.

RadRover / Re: Riding up a big hill on my RR6+

I saw this on e-bikes.org.

?As we said, it doesn?t take long for most hub drives to warm on steep hills, but they cool down quickly. A two- to five-minute break is a fair amount of time to let it get back to proper operating temperature. But if you start to get errors on flat ground with minimal load, you may have a separate problem which you should consult a bike shop about.?

Service & Repair / Bottle thrown at me + wheel issue

Was riding my bike and a car of teens just threw an opened water bottle at my wheel (plastic disposable bottle) so not huge impact  but now when I ride it or push it, there is a lot of resistance and occasional odd sound. Water did spray on the wheel spokes. Visually everything looks fine.
Does anyone know if water or some level of impact on the round metal center would cause this?

Ever since I took a spill riding on wet leaves. I am now a fair weather rider. I am not taking the bike out until I see asphalt on the road.
I wish I was back in Vancouver. I would like to do the Vancouver Island / Sunshine Coast loop on an e-bike.
So many places in BC that I have taken for granted. Now I missed them all.

Fair question Naranja_CT5+.  I did check all the connections once I noticed nothing was working.  I did forget to mention that the brake-light does come on when brakes are engaged, but otherwise does not flash like it should.  I have since fully charged my battery and still have the same results.  There is no error message appearing on my display either.
