Post by: Baudler on November 17, 2020, 07:12:56 AM
Hello. 1st post. Got the bike yesterday and modded before I even rode it.

I'm thinking I need to add to my post. I replaced the pedals with Crank Brothers Stamp 1 in size large.  The grips are PNW loam grip. E&E bike thumb throttle instead of the twist throttle.  Tried the bike this morning when it was still dark and the headlight will need replacing as well.  Any recommendations?

Thanks, that helps.  What would be even better are links to the vendor site for these items.  For example, I did a search for "E&E bike thumb throttle" and didn't get a definitive source.  Thanks!

Got my and my wife's bikes Friday and Saturday.  Haven't put a full mile on either yet and am already adding "stuff".   I think it's an addiction.  Went through the same thing with my F250 truck, and then my Airstream trailer.....

Larger pedals had crossed my mind as well, as there are times when I'm standing and using the throttle, and it doesn't feel like my foot is fully supported.
I've used twist throttles since I was a kid... what are the advantages of a thumb throttle? I imagine it's easier to keep your thumb on it than it is the keep your hand a regular throttle twisted.

For the headlight, it definitely needs upgrading if you ride at night. I kept the original Rad headlight, and added a Nitecore BR35 to the handlebars using a handlebar extension. The light was very expensive, but Nitecore lights seem to last forever. There are lots of very good options from other brands as well, so don't limit yourself!

Thanks.  I ordered a $5 3-D printed clamp on thumb attachment for the existing twist throttle.   If I like how that works I will probably order the E&E thumb throttle assembly.
