Hi no the original spacer and all the headset components look to be fine apart from the star nut that I replaced. I wonder if the steerer tube has always been slightly too long and it's just taken a while for my partner to notice the noise. I'll maybe check to see if it's any different on my mini.

I can vaguely remember there being an article about an older version of the Mini possibly a step through where they all needed a larger spacer. Also there is another one for this version where Rad were asking everyone to check how tight the stem bolts were as some were loose causing the handlebars to move.

Quick update. I've replaced the star nut cleaned and lubed the bearings and put everything back together.

The knocking is still there. It looks like the steerer tube is only about 2mm from the top of the headset so when the topcap is tightened it touches the steerer tube before it is tight enough. I'll grab another spacer tomorrow and give that a try.

Great minds think alike. I've taken the top and bottom bearings out. Glad I did cos the guy had both sets of bearings somehow stuffed into the top.

I've checked the parts doesn't seem to be any damage. I've left the crown race on the fork and the top and bottom cups on the frame as I don't have the tools to remove and press back on. They seem to be in good condition tho.

I got the email about that months ago. I checked both my mini and my partner's at the time. No movement in the handlebars.

Things have gotten even more interesting. My partner had mentioned the noise to a guy at work who has bikes. He offered to have a look. It looks like he thought it was the headset the same as me. I folded the handlebars down and went to adjust the top cap bolt and it came straight out. It looks like he's maybe overtightened the bolt and pulled the threaded part right out of the star nut [emoji85][emoji85] so I definitely need to replace that.

The video I posted was taken before he tried to fix it however so not sure if replacing the star nut and tightening everything up will help or not but I'll report back.

My partner has asked me to have a look at her radmini. It's makeing a knocking or creaking nose from somewhere along the forks or headset. I thought at first it could be s cable knocking or a loose bolt. I've made sure everything is tightened and cables are not rubbing.
My next thought is it could be the headset but I'm not sure I've attached a video below if anyone can help identify the problem. If it is the headset how do I go about tightening it and checking it being loose hasn't damaged the bearings?

I have a Mini 4 and I have one big hill that I commute down daily.  I need to be careful I don't exceed the the 30mph speed limit when coasting so it definitely sounds like something is up.

After riding my bike which was upgraded to hydraulic brakes bought from Big Game Bikes my girlfriend has decided she wanted to upgrade too. She loves a bargain and picked up a used set of Shimano brakes and levers from Gumtree for £20 they look like these ones on Ali express https://m.aliexpress.com/item/4000360416411.html?spm=a2g0n.orderlist-amp.item.4000360416411&aff_trace_key=&aff_platform=msite&m_page_id=1008amp-EJ3EV4lHhp5wtK1conrHvw1603886002833&browser_id=&is_c= they have the correct connector for the rad bikes too. I've installed the front brake and it works very well motor cut off etc all working. Now here's where I'm hoping you guys can help. The rear brake came with the hose detached from the lever as the seller had tried to feed the cable through his brake frame. So I've reattached the cable using a new insert and olive. The brake is obviously full of air and very spongy to the point it doesn't fully stop the rear wheel. I've got a bleed kit and I'm trying to bleed the brakes but for some reason I can't push oil into the caliper and when I try to bleed drain oil out no oil drains from the caliper. When I squeeze the leaver oil does flow out of the bleed nipple on the caliper but when I release the lever it is sucked back up the hose. I've tried following the instructions in this YouTube video but I'm now stumped. https://youtu.be/wYH9dvmZg-Q
Any ideas before I just put the stock brakes back on?

I have a RadMini and the exact same my front disk seems to be ok but the rear one seems to have a bend in it. I've done about 1300km and just changed the brake pads. The back ones were definitely getting worn probably due to the slight rub on the disk.

I'm trying to decide if I want to try to true the disk or if upgrading the brakes would be better.

Just an update. I took the grip and the throttle off. After working the throttle a little it did start to spring back but very slowly. The bike is still under warranty. Rad have asked me to send them a video of the problem and they will process a replacement if needed.

 while out today my bike has developed a problem with the throttle. When you twist it it no longer twists back when you release it. It seems to me like the spring is broken.

I've emailed Rad but judging by how busy they are I doubt I'll get a quick reply. Does anyone know of a way to fix this or is it time for a new throttle?
