It's not a limit, that's just about as fast as a 48V battery can spin that motor. After that, it depends on the steepness of the slope, and the strength of the tail wind ;)

To answer your question 22" is the setting you want.

It's the outside diameter of wheel and tyre

Still commuting on the RR, over the winter break I finally got around to fitting the Vee Speedsters, Urban Drivestyle metal fenders, and flat MTB handlebar.

The new tyres are far more comfortable on tarmac, and provide more grip in wet than I expected. New bar is more responsive than the BMX bars, though I'm more hunched over but I'm happy with the trade off.

I'm also working on replacing the stock light with a motorcycle style light, I'd like to mount the bracket to the front rack, but I need to find someone locally who can cut and fold one for me. The current plan is to connect a separate 12V Lithium pack (which I'm also building) to power it.

If that works, I'll run a 12V rear light as well. If not, then I'll look into 48V-12V DC converters.

Hi

I think i spotted your bike parked up in Galway City recently (unless there's another v.similiar one about).
Anyway, I'm looking to get one (maybe a RadMission) for the school run but your comment about having to change the controller to be legal in Ireland has me concerned.

Is it difficult or expensive to do?

Thanks

Haven;'t logged in in a while, that could well have been me, though I've seen at least one other RR on the roads around town.

TBH, I wouldn't update the controller now, as the latest set of ebike regulations will mean the RR is compliant out of the box : https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-40725216.html

I tried it, that display only works partially with the stock Lishui controller.

How about the eggrider.com V2?

Should be fine with the Allen Keys.

I'm guessing the whole wheel came off?
There's a knack to getting the tension right on the Quick release hubs, tighten the nut so that when you press the qr lever to close it, it leaves a print on the Palm of your hand.

Does the battery charge?
Can you get your hands on a multimeter?
I'd check the voltage across the battery terminals (try it with the key in the three positions)
Then with the controller connected, see if you're getting 5V to the display from the controller.

Theres lots of YouTube tutorials, but essentially it boils down to cleaning and preparing the surface, priming and spraying.

I tend to use automotive spray paint, satin black covers a multitude of sins.

Warm the cans in hot water, use many light coats to build up the colours, and take your time!

I started out with this one.

https://amzn.to/3B9x27E

I found that like most small pumps, it can take forever to pump up fat tires like the ones on my RadRover. So, I switched to a CO2 one I bought at my local Trek store for about $25. I haven't had to use it yet. One thing I've read is that if you use C02, it is just temporary because it leaks out through the tires much quicker than air. They say that you should deflate and re-inflate with a regular pump when you get back home. Not sure if this is really true or not. Anyone have experience with this?
I've heard that using co2 with tubeless setups requires a special type of sealant, as latex can break down if it freezes. But I've never heard of CO2 being leakier than regular air.

I've a floor pump at home, and a small can of foam in the storage console in case I get caught on the road. Though the only time I've had a puncture on the RR, I was ablento cycle on it for a few miles, those sidewalls are pretty strong!

Got pics of the install? If seems a little like overkill to me, but whatever floats your boat. I had to laugh at the comparison items!

Could be an aftermarket controller and display?

You can get curved, low rise BMX bars which would be close to the cafe style bars.

Console is paintable, the sky's the limit.

The main limiting factor for lighting is that the controller only supplies about a 1 amp at 5v from the USB, so you're probably better off with a battery powered light.

I've picked up a very similar headlight cluster for mine, but I've yet to figure out how to power it...

Best of luck, I love seeing creative Rad builds!

Is it throwing any warning lights?

I've a spare stock controller here in Claregalway if you want to test with it?

But it's also possibly the pas ring as mentioned above.

Pretty sure any m8 bolt peg will work.
