General Chat / Free Gear for Active Forum Members!
February 19, 2021, 12:58:47 PM
Hi all, Ryan here. I have a few referrals for Himiway electric bikes which are worth $50 in store credit - this is due to some of the articles I've written on their bikes. Unfortunately, I can't stack them to review one of their bikes, and let's be honest - I only need so many accessories. I thought about how I might use these and I decided I want to reward some of the people who have contributed the most to the forum.

So if you have over 50 posts on the forum and live in the US send me a PM with your full address.

You can choose from:
3x multitools (1 for yourself and 2 to give away?)
Floor pump
Mirrors
Waterproof cycling gloves

The products if you're curious are located here: https://himiwaybike.com/collections/accessories?page=1

I'll do my best to accommodate as many requests as I can with as much credit as I have. As always thanks for your contributions to the forum.

RadWagon / Spacer next to freewheel
February 14, 2021, 05:48:41 AM
Can someone with a 2018 or 2019 RadWagon tell me if there is a spacer directly to the right of the freewheel? Can't remember if it's just on the other side or if I just lost it. Thanks!

General Chat / Save $200 on two RadMissions
February 11, 2021, 04:37:11 PM
Hi all, this deal is about to go live tomorrow but thought I'd give everyone a heads up. Until the end of February, you can purchase two RadMission electric bikes and get $200 off. You just need to use the promo code "TwoMissions" at checkout. Consider using the forum's affiliate link before purchasing which helps keep the forum running: https://bit.ly/318LVYq

Hopefully, this helps if you were looking for a decent deal. The RadMission bikes were originally priced at $999 but that was preorder pricing last summer. I'm keeping an eye on any other Valentine's day ebike deals as well: https://ebikeescape.com/valentines-day-ebike-sales/

General Chat / Rad Power Bikes $150 Million Investment
February 04, 2021, 03:25:42 PM
Rad landed a huge investment after raising $25 million last year. Here's what I think: https://ebikeescape.com/rad-power-bikes-raises-150-million/

Curious what others think (or if you don't care  :) )

Living in Wisconsin I have found handlebar mitts a great accessory for winter riding. I have tested both Rock Bros and Bar Mitts handlebar grips and have been pleased with both. Now Rad Power Bikes is selling their own handlebar mitts for $79. What's cool about these is that they are custom made for the swept-back bars found on the Rad Models. Plus they seem to offer more room for braking and adjusting the PAS. Here they are on Rad's website: https://bit.ly/2MJP37V

I am impressed with the design - to be determined if they provide the same or more protection as the other brands. I might have to pick up a set of these to test them out.

A few weeks ago Rad quietly announced the "Enhanced Comfort Saddle" - basically an upgraded seat sold directly from Rad. Curious if anyone has purchased, would love to hear what you think. I covered it here and hope to try it out for myself at some point: https://ebikeescape.com/rad-power-bikes-enhanced-comfort-saddle-seat/

General Chat / Server issues resolved - hopefully
December 14, 2020, 11:02:55 AM
Hi all, Ryan here. You may have noticed continued downtime over the weekend. To remedy the situation I have moved hosts. I should have better support and the forum should be more reliable. If you see any issues please let me know.

Thanks for your patience as I worked through this.

Happy holidays!

Pride & Joy / Happy Halloween
October 31, 2020, 07:33:57 PM
We had a bit of a cold snap over the last week but it was close to 50 degrees today! So of course we had to get out all of the ebikes to spread some good Halloween vibes. Had the music going while riding and all of our flashing lights on. Hope everyone had a nice day!

Hi all, admin here. The forum has grown beyond my expectations and I appreciate all of the contributions. Recently a forum member reached out and suggested a discussion board for each Rad Power Bike model. I thought this was a great idea to better organize the content and help people find what they're looking for. You'll see them listed below the categories you are familiar with on the homepage: https://www.radowners.com/index.php

Have a Rad day  8),

General Chat / Forest Green Rad Power Bikes RadRover
October 19, 2020, 09:10:36 AM
Rad Power Bikes just released a new color for the RadRover: Forest Green. They say it is a limited edition with shipping in early November: https://bit.ly/31o23V3

What does everyone think?

I check Rad's website every day (sometimes multiple times!) to see if items are in stock and I am working on a new email list where I'll share when certain items are in stock.

Here is a link to the signup form: https://ebikeescape.com/rad-notification-signup/

Post in this thread which items you are waiting for and I'll be sure to keep you notified.

General Chat / Ebike Escape gear
September 30, 2020, 06:53:04 PM
Hi all, Ryan here. First of all thanks to everyone who has contributed to the forum. It now takes more time than ever for me to keep up with all of the awesome content here - and that's a good thing. This was my goal when I created the forum since I became frustrated trying to dig through the Facebook group to find relevant information.

A few people have asked about t-shirts and I now have the Ebike Escape shirts on my website. For those of you who don't know, Ebike Escape is where I talk about all things ebikes - still with a focus on Rad Power Bikes. I am open to adding some Rad Owners gear but Ebike Escape is what I'm going to be offering for now. Note I have not yet gone through the purchase process so if you end up ordering and run into any issues let me know. These are the exact same shirts my wife and I wear in videos and they are great quality.

Rad Modifications / Water Bottle Holder and Mount Options
September 30, 2020, 06:47:16 PM
Hi all, wanted to share this as now there are a handful of products on the market like this. It is a front mounting plate for Rad Power Bikes that gives you the ability to mount bottle cages to either side. The most recent one comes from GZila and they are sending me one so I can show it in a video. My brother also bought one of the Cascade Manufacturing ones. What's cool about the GZila ones is they are adjustable (plus offered in orange!). I don't think you can go wrong with any of these - they are a great accessory to have. I'm currently using one that was 3D printed which has held up fine.

Here are the options on the market today. Please send me others if I missed any:

Rad Modifications / Calling all RadRover Owners!
August 18, 2020, 08:10:47 PM
Hi RadRover owners! A member of the forum reached out to me and sent me a stainless steel skid plate that they are selling. I did a quick video and am doing a giveaway since I do not own a RadRover. Be sure you're subscribed to my channel and leave a comment for a chance to win. (Sorry US only)

Rad recently added two new accessories to their site: "Rad Colored Pedals" and "Rad Colored Grips"

Rad Colored Pedals: https://bit.ly/39azey5
Rad Colored Grips: https://bit.ly/3eCmLV2

Is anyone interested in me doing a video on these? They are the same pedals/grips that come standard on the bikes, just different colors. I'm confused why they decided to offer blue and green when these colors aren't even seen on their ebikes with the exception of the blue RadMission. Also, I wonder whether the orange will match exactly with the Rad Power Bikes orange. I'm okay with the price, it's the $10 shipping that seems a little out of line.

Let me know what you think either way.

Watching it live, starts at $999: https://bit.ly/318LVYq

Hi all, hope everyone is staying safe. I wanted to provide a little update with what's going on with the Rad Owners Forum, Ebike Escape and me personally.

Rad Owners Forum
We recently crossed 700 registered users! To be honest I never thought it would grow to be this big. Thank you to everyone who has joined and those who continue to share information with others. I try my best to respond to everyone I can but I am by no means an expert in all aspects of ebikes. There was a point at which I wasn't sure the forum was going to work out but my initial premise has held true. Many people are familiar with the large Rad Power Bikes group on Facebook. One of the main problems with the Facebook group is the search functionality which is why I created this forum. It is public on the web and thus indexed by Google. The result is we don't often have people asking the same question over and over and we have a great repository of information.

Ebike Escape
Ebike Escape (https://ebikeescape.com/) launched officially just a few months ago officially and was created to cover ebikes and ebike accessories more broadly.  I also have a YouTube channel and I'm work towards my goal of 1,000 subscribers: https://www.youtube.com/ebikeescape

Personal Update
I, like many others have seen the impact of the current pandemic as it relates to my full-time job. At least for the time being Ebike Escape and the Rad Owners Forum will be my primary focus. Many are aware that my recommended accessories page (https://www.radowners.com/index.php/topic,104.0.html) uses Amazon affiliate links to help support what I'm doing with electric bikes. I am contemplating modifying other Amazon links throughout the forum to affiliate links to hopefully bring in more revenue. If anyone feels strongly against me doing this please let me know.

As always if you're purchasing an electric bike please consider using clicking the Rad Power Bikes ad on this site or before making your purchase. This earns me a commission on the sale and in turn allows me to continue to offer content related to electric bikes. If you're considering another brand of ebike I also have a discount code page which features discount codes for other reputable ebike brands: https://ebikeescape.com/ebike-discount-codes-by-company/

Thanks for being a part of the community and as always please let me know if you have any questions.

General Chat / New RadWagon?
May 19, 2020, 01:18:26 PM
Rad Power Bikes teased on Instagram that "a new version of the bike you love hits the streets in September."

My guess is this is a new version of the RadWagon since it is currently out of stock and they are not accepting backorders. Any other guesses?
