Pride & Joy / Our 2018 Rad Wagon
December 03, 2018, 08:55:27 AM
One of the reasons we decided to buy a Rad Wagon versus the other models was being able to both ride it. Only on the steepest of hills does the passenger have to get off the bike temporarily. We've even been able to do a pretty large grocery run with both of us on it as well. I think by now a lot of people have seen us in the community and we get lots of looks  :o The versatility made the Wagon the best choice for us.

General Chat / Most Miles Ridden on Rad Power Bikes
December 01, 2018, 03:06:36 PM
I know there are a lot of people out there who have put a significant amount of miles on their bikes. Thought it would be fun to see who has the most and also have everyone share some thoughts on maintenance you have had to do over the lifetime of ownership. I'll start:

We received our bike late April 2018, ended the season with just under 1800 miles.

I replaced the rear brakes at the end of the season. At first I was intimidated by the brakes, but this is definitely an easy DIY job if you have the time. We've been lucky and haven't had any flats yet.

Rad Modifications / Water Bottle Cages for Rad Bikes
November 29, 2018, 06:40:32 PM
On my Rad Wagon there is limited options for a water bottle. I've seen some custom jobs, but haven't been too crazy about the solutions I've seen. I recently came across this product from Fidlock. The water bottle locks/twists into place which is much different from traditional water bottle cages. It can use the standard bolts, but they also sell a "Uni Base" which basically lets you mount the holder to any part of the bike frame using straps. Curious if anyone has used this or has a better solution. Only downside is they're pretty pricey.

Update April 2020: I've found a bunch of different options which are much more affordable than this. See "Water Bottle Solutions" on my accessories page: https://www.radowners.com/index.php/topic,104.0.html

General Chat / Introduce yourself!
November 28, 2018, 08:18:56 AM
Hi all!

I am the proud owner of a 2018 Rad Wagon. It has been our favorite purchase ever and we put on 1800 miles in our first summer in Wisconsin. It's been a real joy to replace many of our in town car trips.

I've been amazed by the community around Rad Power Bikes and wanted to do my part in both furthering the community and the adoption of ebikes in general. I've been involved in running websites in the past and it is something I enjoy doing. I saw an opportunity for a forum dedicated to Rad Power Bikes which led to the creation of Rad Owners. I hope you find the forum beneficial and I want to thank those who take the time to share their knowledge with others. Rad on!  8)

Feel free to introduce yourself below!

Sadly our bike is inside hibernating for the winter but we did find room next to the Christmas tree  ;D

Hope to see some pictures of people getting out there!
