General Chat / Re: False promise by Radbikes

I would have to agree on the supply chain issues. It's no secret that Rad's customer service is excellent. My question to those that are frustrated by long delays in shipping bikes and parts, don't you think Rad wants their bikes and parts in customer's hands? Their hands are tied, just like many other industries.

And to further frustrate customers, shipping companies are way behind at times. It's kind of hit or miss. Some shipments in the US are a normal few days, but other shipments are a week or two late. Unfortunately those issues are out of Rad's hands.

Rad Modifications / Re: Access to battery terminals

Did you read what he is proposing? He wants to gain access through his charging port. For someone experienced in electronics, maybe they can pull it off. But other people may eventually read this thread, who may not have a lot of electrical knowledge, and introduce an electrical issue. Why risk your bike's electronics because you want a more convenient light?

I realize it's a nice thought to add a second headlight powered off the bike's battery, but I wouldn't do it. Why risk the bike's circuitry, especially the controller, when there are so many rechargable headlight options out there?

I believe the issue may be with a sticking sensor in the brake lever assembly. The sensor shuts down power assist and throttle when either brake is applied. Try unplugging the left brake lever assembly first.

Go to the left brake lever, find the power wire coming off the lever, follow the wire down in front of the steering stem. Unplug the wire to see if the issue clears up. If not, repeat on right side.

If that fixes the issue, call Rad and have them send you a new brake assembly under warranty.

I hope I gave you the correct size!

I think you may want to consider going to a local bike shop and try a few sizes out. Also as you mentioned, check out a seat post suspension. It softens the ride, as well as add a couple inches to the seat post:

I don't see a cell phone holder so you can view a map as you ride.

RadCity / Re: Sizing for 6'3 tall
December 19, 2021, 02:02:14 AM
Old thread, but I will take a crack at it. The new City 5 plus is a tall bike. It does suit taller riders. But whether it is tall enough for you is another question. The web page says up to 6'5". Personally I think you would be happy with the size.

Not sure, but probably M5-.8mm pitch or M6-1mm pitch. Length would be whatever you need.

The nut size is metric: M3, .5 pitch

Rad will probably send you a whole new battery tray. Keep it as a spare and go to the hardware store for your nut. Probably better to hit a small store like True Value or Ace. They tend to have better metric selection than Lowes or HD.

The three bolts that mount the tray to the bike are M5 Button - 12mm. I am not sure the size of the nut that holds the aluminum part to the plastic part. You can easily take the bolt to a hardware store to find a matching nut.

I believe it is 22, but I will let someone else chime in.

Tanus is an option, not standard.

I believe there are padded bags available. Do a search. A tub would take up a lot of room, unless it's sized perfectly.

No, I am not talking about the guard. The derailleur arm can get bent in shipping. By the way, it's never a good idea to remove the guard. Ever!
