RadRunner / Re: My New Radrunner Plus
November 13, 2021, 01:58:40 PM
You're going to love it. Just came back from Tofino - so many bike trails. Wish I could have brought it with me.

One thing you will find is that all of the accessory screws are over-torqued and will strip when trying to remove them. Get a good set of Speedouts to remove them and replace with better screws.

Also, check out the thumb throttle I mentioned above. It makes such a difference because you can now have a good grip with your palm and 4 fingers and only your thumb controlling the throttle.

Hope the rain stops before yours arrives.

Is this on the Radrunner Plus or Radrunner 1?

RadRunner / My New Radrunner Plus
October 29, 2021, 11:11:13 PM
Just added a few accessories to my new Radrunner Plus.

Hurtle (HURSHL18) Wireless Helmet controller for turn signals
SPIRIT BEAST Handlebar Mount Motorcycle Clock
Motorcycle Phone Mount Wireless Charger 15W and USB-C Input/Output
Bicycle Handlebar Extender 30cm Carbon Fibre
ROMOSS 20000mAh Power (PSN20) Bank PD QC3.0 USB-C Fast Charging Portable Battery Charger
Backey Universal Bicycle Handlebar Phone Holder (for powerbank)
Motorcycle Universal Helmet Lock
Motorbike/Bicycle Anti-Theft Alarm, waterproof, 113db
1859 North West - Galaxy Black e-Bike Thumb Throttle

Note that I moved the controller display to the new handlebar extender to raise it up higher.
Also, I zip tied the stock bundle of cables to the base of the handlebar.

Did 22KM in extremely hilly West Vancouver and only lost one bar. Loving this bike!

I'm in West Vancouver. Ordered my Radrunner Plus on Sept 15 where they indicated a delivery date of Nov 15. Just received it on Thanksgiving Monday (Oct 11). I think it was expedited because I paid for Rad assembly and delivery. Hope you get yours soon.

Good to know for future reference. Didn't realize it was that easy.

General Chat / Re: RAD assembly and delivery vs VeloFix
October 06, 2021, 09:26:09 PM
Thanks. Actually, it's $199 for RAD and $249 for Velofix (extra $50). I did  call RAD and asked and they pretty much said it's the same service here. I went with RAD so I'm hoping they also do the fine tuning and extra care that I'm hearing about Velofix, and not just drop the bike off at the doorstep. I also had them add an installation note to untighten all of the accessory screws as I've heard many posters stating that they were torqued so high that they stripped them trying to take them off.

This is probably going to piss off a lot of people, but I placed my order on September 15 and just got the message that they are delivering October 11 (when I initially added to the cart it said November 15). I think it makes a huge difference when you're just down the road and also select RAD assembly and delivery.

General Chat / RAD assembly and delivery vs VeloFix

I ordered my Rad Runner Plus and selected RAD installation and delivery (I live in West Vancouver). They also had an option for VeloFix assembly and delivery.
Does anyone know what the difference is? Is it worth going with the extra $49 for VeloFix?

Thanks,

I looked at the Quadlock system, and I must admit that it does look like a neat and secure option, but declined it because I just bought a new phone case and belt clip a couple weeks ago.

I looked at doing the add-on wireless charger, but couldn't find one thin enough to fit between the mount and the phone.

I decided to order the following phone holder with built in wireless charger. I looked at over 50 of them and this model seems to be the only one that supports a 5V USB-C as input.

Thanks for ideas guys.

I have a Rad Runner Plus and I've been searching but cannot seem to find a decent wireless phone charger that comes with a handlebar bracket. Don't like plugging a cable into my iPhone 11 every time I go out. I have a really nice one that auto clamps when it detects a phone and use it in my car, but the company doesn't sell a version with a proper bracket for a bike. Other models I found would work great except they are meant for motorcycles with 12v terminals. I plan to mount a small USB power bank to power a couple of items including the phone as I would prefer not to use the USB port of the controller and affect my distance, plus I don't think there's enough amps to keep a phone going.

Any help would be appreciated.
