General Chat / Anyone set up a trainer for indoor ridiing?
« on: January 26, 2024, 10:11:49 AM »

Rainy Seattle and tired of walking in the rain... Rather than get a stationary bike I am comfy on my RadMini and wondered if anyone had figured out how to connect in inside trainer hold the rear wheel in place?

Service & Repair / RAD mini Fork seal leak
« on: June 08, 2022, 07:41:19 AM »

Both our 2021 Mini's still under warranty have leaky fork seals with less than 500 miles on them.  I am MC rider familiar with dealing with leaky seals  and wondered if anyone else has dealt with this yet?

 Hey Ryan,

Service & Repair / First flat
« on: December 07, 2021, 10:39:05 AM »

Being a lucky SOB we found the Mini Stepthru  rear tire flat in the garage on roll out.  Much better now fixing at home then on the road in this cold  rainy weather to deal with it on side of road.   Could not see where it was coming from so I by the numbers turned her over and meticulously removed the wheel and began the process of discovery as to why since no puncture was evident.

Submerged the reflated tube in water to see bubbles coming from which area.   Nothing amiss.  Rolled my fingers inside the tire to find a tiny looks like part of a staple that was sticking into to tube not protruding out of the outside of the tire.  Good thing I checked before reinstalling tube and re inflating.     Cant help but think if RAD had not gone cheap on the nearly treadless tires with tires that actually had measurable tread this would not have happend.  Will be Amazoning for some chunkier tires despite the weight factor for safety reasons.

Rad Modifications / Mini Controller protection
« on: December 02, 2021, 01:39:16 PM »
Anyone riding their bike sooner or later looks down and will see the mess on the controller box specifically on the Mini 4 which faces front unlike the ST that hides it comfortably behind the seat post.    **Wondering if anyone has protected their controller with skid plate or some sort of fabric protection?

General Chat / You might need one of these soon!!
« on: November 18, 2021, 12:20:41 PM »
If you do your own installation and  maintenance you will prolly want one of these sooner or later.  The Mini Beast is up and held in new amazon repair stand!  Tired of bending over for maintenance with 4 bikes to service.  Holding bike w/o battery.  Need a lot of strength to hold up with 1 arm while clamping with other hand if alone.  Had my features wanted and meet requirements able to hold rated 66 lbs.

Service & Repair / Home Made Bike Stand
« on: October 02, 2021, 08:06:34 AM »
Being a crafty practical type I cobbled together an easy wooden stand from ideas someone else started to see if it works prior to sending off for a store bought maint stand.  A piece of 4x4 and  some 2x4 would suffice with a  few hooks and long wood screws . This is not pretty but could work for those that need to get the wheel off the ground for derailleur, spoke, wheel, adjusting and chain cleaning. I hold it in place much the same way I strapped motorcycles in the bed of pickups and trailers. Maybe it will help someone... :^) We have 5 bikes and the ebikes weigh the most and hardest to deal with. Ugh.

I've disconnected and re connected all the wires to no effect?  Any ideas?

RadMini / Stem extension separation
« on: September 13, 2021, 12:14:08 PM »
I tried to raise my brand  new RAD mini 4 handlebars and have the extension separate and come off in my hands?  Wow that was scary. Wonder if the screw inside was loose or something else?  Anyone have this happen to them?

RadRunner / My RAD city cargo bike
« on: September 01, 2021, 03:03:51 PM »
I needed some storage capacity being that kinda guy I am.  Here is my first attempt.   I'm the practical one,  my S/O has covered hers in stickers and matching chah ching bling.    Needing full extension for my 31.5 inch inseam I had to order a 450MM seat post also.
