Hi,
Any idea if Park Tool PPL-2 grease is safe to use on ebike motors??

I'm replacing a motor and it seems a little dry. Ace, Souther States, Walmart and Tractor Supply all have no compatible grease in stock. The local bike shop was kind enough to give me a tablespoon worth of Park Tool PPL-2 (Same as PPL1, but in a tub instead of tube). it's a thick'ish dark green grease.

I'm leaning toward ordering something I know to be correct, but maybe I'm being over concerned.

Thanks for any suggestions or advice!

Hi,
I installed a 750w OEM drop in 2 days ago  on my Mini 4 that I upgraded to the 35a control and KT-LCD8H display last year. Never got more than 22.2 on flat ground with PAS or throttle using the 500. Expected close to 28 with the 750 installed, but only getting 24.8. Tested with a few speedometer apps and the seems to be accurate. Torque seems about the same. Climbing my street is now at 20mph where the 500 was 14-15mph so there's definite improvement, but I'm wondering if I should have bought a Bafang 750 instead of the OEM.

Should I be getting more top speed?

Top Speed:
500 - 22.2mph
750 - 24.8mph

Thanks for any ideas or suggestions.

  MC size differently - 3.0 x 16 = 20 inch wheel

Thanks !

Is the 16 for the actual 16" diameter my wheel has? Meaning [anything] x 16 will fit a 20" tire?

Hoping to find a good 3.5" for my Mini 4.

SR241 Shinko - Amazon

Which Shinko size fits on a Mini 4 wheel that is meant for a 20" x 3-4" tire?

Shinko's look like a great option, but I don't understand their sizing. I've got a Mini 4 that shipped with the 20x3 CST Big Bloat tires that blow. I upgraded a 20x4" Mongoose tire that does well (with Tannus), but I think the middle ground of a 20x3.5 or 3.3" tire would be exactly what I need.

When I bought the Mongoose, they were labelled 20x4. Shinko has a 3.5 tire, but I can't tell what the diameter is supposed to be. Shinko responded to me with the statement below.

Shino's response:
"Thank you for contacting Shinko Tire USA. There has not been a conversation yet to offer Shinko Tires in the sizes you have listed suitable for Ebikes. We always appreciate suggestions to help us keep an eye on the market and the needs and wants of our valued customers."

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Looking at Shinko 241's to replace when it is time.   Some have tried them with great success - https://www.chapmoto.com/shinko-sr241-series-dual-sport-front-rear-tire.html

Nice. I like those. I thought about a decent set of motor cross or small motor cycle tires, but am concerned about additional weight with the thicker rubber. Want to keep it simple for loading the truck and trailer for camping trips. Want a long lasting tire that will be comfortable cruising campgrounds, but can handle the road decently without losing tread too fast. Sounds like I want the perfect tire now that I see it written out. lol

What size would you go with on those Shinkos? I don't see a 20" diameter. 3.5 x 19 or 3.0 x 21 seem closest.

I don't know why the step through has different tires but I've always been envious of those tires cuz I have the mini 4 and the tires are knobby and very loud. I have also had punctures even with thicker knobier tires

I wouldn't envy the CST Big Boat tires they ship the Mini's with now. Mine came with them in Nov. 2021 and not only do they look ridiculous (too small/thin @ 3"), but I don't feel confident on them at all. I "upgraded" to a cheap set of Mongoose tires that I'm not in love with, but they're much easier to ride on than the CST's.

I'd like to try the 3.3" K-Rad's just to see how they feel. The 3" is just way to thin, but I would like the easier turning of a thinner tire. The 3.3" seems a good mid point.

Edit: Speling correkshun

A switch like this with the option to disable it should already included as part of the battery. License it, get it done.

Hi,
I'd like to extend the display cable for better routing. The 5 pin extensions I've tried don't fit with the Rad display...on either end. They seem close, but don't connect.

Is there a 5 pin extension that is compatible with Rad? Or am I looking at soldering?

Thanks
