Title: Butterfly Handlebars Anyone
Post by: Eric7 on May 05, 2022, 08:22:22 AM
When I fall, I tend to bang up my brake levers.  Therefore, I think if I get a butterfly handlebar, it would also serve as protection for my brake levers which would be mounted in the rear. Maybe this would be good because the levers take forever to find and are expensive - especially if I decide to upgrade to hydraulic and ebike compatible levers with motor-cutting capabilities.

Also, I have the stem reversed.  With a butterfly handlebar, maybe I don't have to because it brings the handlebar back.

Has anyone tried a butterfly handlebar?  Any recommendations?

Some bar-ends would be a simple install and probably do the same if I'm thinking of the same style of what butterfly bar your thinking of.

I had one on the tandem. They have a lot of flex.

Thank you for your brilliant idea.  You mean something like this?  Do you have any recommendations?

Looking back at my decades of riding, I have damaged all my brake levers.  Maybe it is my style and my desire to always try new things.  So now I am thinking of some bar ends to protect the brake levers.

Thanks again for your tip you for your tip.

Yep, that's what I was thinking of. They come in steel and aluminum but mostly all look like that.
