Rad Modifications / Re: PAS adjustments
September 01, 2020, 05:02:48 AM
I was able to do this with the 35a controller and KTLCD3 display I upgraded to. I think it's one of the C-settings (I'd have to check the menus) PAS 3 is about 22kph, 4 gets me to 28kph, and five takes me to 35kph at maximum charge.

The Kenda tubes cone with a standard Schrader/American valve, the same as most cars.

My Abus Granit came with some clever mounting options, I found this to be the least intrusive.

Nice find! As my brother the mechanic often says; "Check the simple things first!"

The only other thing I can think of would be to see if the  front light can be plugged into the back, them see if the front light comes on with the break. Or figure out what the voltage/current requirements for the front light are and see if you can power it another way.

Or go back to Rad Support.

Does the indicator on the display show when the light is on?

Can you toggle the switch on the front light to see if it resets?

If you have access to a multimeter, can you check if there's power going to the lights when you turn them on?

General Chat / Re: Controller vs GPS mileage

One of the minor annoyances with the upgraded display I bought is that I can't pick the correct diameter for the wheel and tyre combo on the Runner. 20" is too short, 24"too tall, but closest. I'm guessing it's the same for you?

Can the Tuffy Liners be cut to length?

Euro folks! I picked a pair of Kendas from an Italian supplier through Amazon.co.uk:

Arrived super fast too!

Service & Repair / Tyre Wear

How long are you folks running tyres before changing them? I picked up my first puncture during the week, and while I was looking for the offending object, I was surprised by how much the centre inch of the tyre had worn down. I've only done about 800km (500mi), but I guess it's part and parcel of a heavy bike with all that power running through the back wheel? I'm not doing sick burnouts or anything like that, just riding on paved roads or gravel tracks.

It's still got plenty of life left in it, I'm just trying to figure out the life expectancy! :D

Minor update, I'm at 500km with the new controller, I've dialled the power down about 15% in the interests of range, (cruising speed is about 35kph now, so still plenty!) and I'm on my second seat post, as the freebie I got lasted about 3 km before it gave away underneath me. Seat position is still too far forward on the layback seat post I got to replace it, so I'm looking at cruiser posts, which is more complicated than I expected because its all in American, and the post diameters are different.

I also picked up a locking collar for the seat, which was the wrong size, and an Airzounds XL style airhorn,  which is hilarious, and loud enough to wake the dead!

We've had a spell of fine weather this week, so I've been roaming the byroads, and dining out in style!

Go nuts! I'd say gear it to the moon, and let the motor fill in the torque.

That's the plan, a buddy of mine is sending me a used seat post. I had one on a bike years ago and they're a lovely thing, with a little care they last for years and get better as they age.

Rad Modifications / Re: Tech specs for front light?

You're right, the display connects to the controller, the controller connects to the light. That should give me more options.
