Rad Power Bikes Classifieds / 2) Rad Rover 5
January 24, 2022, 05:41:09 AM
I have 2 Rad Rover 5 bikes and a pile of accessories. One bike has about 280 miles, the other has about 80. Nothing wrong with them. I have racks and baskets front and rear for both plus a puppy cart and a dog carrier for the bikes. I am not willing to ship but I would be willing to bring them a couple hours to meet for a buyer to pickup.
The bikes are both black with all black racks. Both have C10 seats and I have the factory seats.
I also have a car carrier for both.
I will not sell any accessories unless the bikes sell also.
Package deal. 3200 for both and all accessories and the car carrier.
Or
1600 for 1 bike with its racks each. No carrier or cart.

I am in Spokane Washington.

I have ridden the trail, but I have not rode it on my ebike. Part of the trail is open to atvs. And I have ridden standard bike and an Atv on the trail. I rented Rad bikes from the shop in Wallace and they wanted us to go to this trail for the day but we chose not to. I am not sure if they would hall your bikes back up from the bottom because of the size and weight of the ebike so I would check that out first.

450 to 750 dollars to remove the motor hum. Looks like a lot of trouble and cost to me. I would contact Rad for a wiring diagram. Good luck.

General Chat / Re: Battery lock

I have 2 Rad bikes and they have different keys. Keys from each bike can turn the other bike on but will not unlock the battery for removal from the bike.
I am not seeing the concern.

I just looked at mine. I think you have to unscrew the back of the battery case. I dont think the little window area opens. I may be wrong though, I wouldnt want to tear the cover up.

I would say for a quick fix the warming packets, you can get a very large box from costco for a decent price. I would look into battery powered liners. I know the Milwaukee M12 series is doing very good around the construction crews.
Best of luck

General Chat / Re: Front rack for my rover

We had ordered a front basket for a Runner by mistake. I decided to put it on the Rover. I think I like it. I am trying to upload an image but having issues. It bolts on without modifications and the light fits better.

I have only assembled my 2 Rad Rovers. My assembly was great.I was very impressed on how much I did not have to do. My battery mount was already mounted to the frame and there was no need to mess with it.
I did notice a little debri in the screw holes for the racks and felt it could have been easy to cross thread if I hadnt paid attention.
I even put a little WD40 in some of the holes if the screw was feeling like it wasnt going in correctly.
I would contact Rad but I dont think this is completely Rads fault. Just my opinion.

General Chat / If we are quiet, we will lose!!

I do not post much and am not a person that likes to discuss politics. However with the growing popularity of ebikes, a lot of issues are happening. Here in my local area of Spokane County, ebikes are prohibited except on paved trails and roads. Spokane County website has a survey you can take and voice your opinion.
I have never been much of a bicycle rider. I always liked thing that self propelled and was big into backcountry horse, atv and jeep world. I have had my issues with about every type of sport in the back country just because people do not stop and think before acting.
All that said, every sport has its place and in each sport  we have people that ruin it for everyone else.
Recently I made some life changes. I love the mountains and trails but because of lower back issues I can not hike very far and have sold my atv and horse because it hurts me to ride. My wife and I purchased a couple Rovers and we really like them.
Get involved! Be the kind of rider people like having around. Do not ride off trail and do not distroy the trails or we will lose them.
Thank you

Service & Repair / Re: screen wont power up

I had same issue when I first got my Rover. Turned out the connection on the main power cable that had a chrome looking screw connection was not properly together. I took it apart and fitted it back together and it worked. I then checked the other bike and although it was functioning it was barely connected. It is probably a connection issue.. good luck.

General Chat / Re: Front rack for my rover

I ended up using a screw from when i installed my rear rack that was a spare, to mount my light. The light bracket that the kit came with is exactly the same bracket as the one on my bike. My light doesnt point straight, it points down just in front of my tire. I am a little dissapointed in the lack of instructions and the screws/parts the racks and baskets come with.

I ordered 2 Rad Rovers in mid Aiugust. I received them last week. I had put in to be notified when the racks were available and it worked out great. I had all but 1 basket here before my bikes . With Covid and the difficult world we are in at this moment, i have been very happy.
