I saw on youtube of a guy who had a semi battery bike NON RAD....anyway he bent his frame because the structure is weakened with the new design.  It was a step thru bike.

The easiest option you have is to replace the controller.  If you are going to do it, then go with an upgraded controller to 35 amps. It will give you more power and some extra speed.  Area 13 has them usually in stock.  You will also get an easier to read color LCD screen.

I recently had this same failure on my Rover 5. Inside my controller are two auxiliary circuit boards in black shrink wrap. One is circled in green, the other is below it and to the upper left. One board is for the headlight/tail light and one for the brake light. I replaced it with a used board from a Facebook group member's controller, which he kindly removed from a non-working controller. My tail light was also dead; I don't know if it failed and took out the auxiliary board or vice versa. I replaced the tail light with an aftermarket one.

Doesn?t look easy to change.

... I personally don't like batteries built in to the frame because you are limited on battery upgrades and placement. ...
I don't like the idea of the semi-integrated batteries not having replaceable fuses. That would be a deal-killer for me.

Hmm... On https://www.thule.com/en-ca/bike-rack/hitch-bike-racks/thule-easyfold-xt-2-_-903202 it sez "Load capacity 60 kg / Max bike weight 30 kg".

Even the stock RadExpand 5 is up to 28 kg, and the others are on the order of 29-34 kg, so you'd be pushing the limits of the rack. Take the batteries off and save 3.5 kg each, but it's still a lot.
