Why are there 20+ (I just deleted & reported) offers for $$ cash financing all of a sudden showing  up in all the threads?   This is ugly & sloppy... >:( >:(  :(   :(

You could do the engineering on the thread, thread length, weld analysis, but honestly more than a few pounds (bouncing around) would probably tax them.  Poke RAD support, what are they for? ...  I'd put a license plate there, personally. My Runner Plus, doesn't have them, tho most of the RW4 stuff fits.  The big platform, 1 baby seat, big basket etc... fits the RR+.

Where & how are you mounting all this power???  Which generic PRC mount are you using?  I've talked with Gareth at biggamebikes dot com quite a bit about the DATEX devices, and his line of batteries.  I see he's added a new MONSTER! 18 AH Samsung Cell for $630... I thought I saw a bigger one....  He's got a nice line of supplies!  He know's his stuff!

Batteries are good for ~1000 full charge cycles.
Rad claims 800 cycles. Samsung says 80% capacity after 500 cycles. Actual results are very dependent upon how the batteries are used, charged, and stored. DoD (Depth of Discharge) is a major determining factor. For example, look at the attached chart. If you fully charge then fully discharge your battery, expect 300 cycles. If you charge then discharge 50%, expect 1000 cycles (not 600).  Another reason to fully charge after every ride.

RadRover / Re: Battery Mistake
August 23, 2022, 11:01:20 PM
There is another discussion on this topic, right now.  RPB's has some poor sole humping through hours of photos & documents, including the weather (no really)... Start with them, I know Gareth at biggamebikes.com offers battery service.  he's in the UK, so IDK about shipping! ...  "neutral neural thoughts" your way!

RadRover / Re: What RAD Needs for Battery Replacement
August 23, 2022, 10:56:56 PM
grrr, is my only nice reply...

This is a community discussion that would take a while.  There are solutions & options.  I'm not so enamored by their 1 yr warranty on big ticket replacement items.  They seem to act like they are either Mercedes Online, or Wal -Mart.  It is a growth pain I believe.  No crap like this was in their pipeline 2 years ago when I got my RW4.

If  you know someone with a 3D printer, there are examples of them on thingiverse.  use rad power or radpower as your search strings.

RadRunner / Re: Alternate Large Rear Basket - MUKKPET

You have to translate the Imperial measurements.  The Amazon one is 5.7" x 18.11" x 13.39" or 46.5 cm by 33.1, no height in cm or mm given.  The Amazon one is 6.5 pounds, no kg,
The RPB one is 4.2 pounds - 1.9 kg. 5.5" x 19.5" x 12".  No metric's given.

The Amazon one gives detailed specifics on hole centers and such.
Rad Power Bikes will NEVER give out those specifications.  That's what your measuring gage or micrometer is for!

There is never an ETA on out of stock RAD products & you take your chances in the "email loto" ... who see's it first & places their order first... or you wait more... I'll print that Amazon hole centers page.  News at 10.

RadCity / Re: Thinking of water bottles

I've gotten this device for both my RAD bikes.  It allows you to have 2 mounted below the handle bars on the sides.  With long enough bolts and good eyes, it can be "co-mounted" with the front basket or bracket.  Sturdy. Works well...

Does the basket stick past the fender?   I can't tell from the photo???

That's my maximum length restriction for my building elevator.  The large platform was TOO LARGE in every direction.  I may just order it & build my own adapter plate.  Thanks for the Idea!

I'm American but living in Wicklow, Ireland and bought a Radwagon recently. We've been a one-car family for about four years and the Radwagon is to replace car trips and to give me more range on the weekend excursions when my wife tends to have the car.

I was worried that the Radwagon's long tail would not fit in the train racks here, but was able to wrestle it in. This is important as it allows me to take the bike on long trips to different parts of Ireland, as well as to the UK via the ferry.

For longer trips I will probably invest in a second battery - I did about 50 hilly km this weekend before I was down to one bar, but would have liked to have gone further.

I have a set of Willex panniers from Belgium (33 litres each) which I use for shopping.

I use a Clug to store the bike vertically at home.

I really like the included Dutch-style frame lock which comes with the European models. Much easier to quickly lock the wheel when going into shops.

I'd personally not trust just a "clamp" type lock.  You see all the bikes in Amsterdam with that lock, being fished out of the canels.

I'm in Iowa USA, in a small metro, I've got the 3 biggest ABUS locks I can find.  The MEGA chain - 15 rated, the 6000 series flat chain lock - 15 rated, and the smaller flat chain lock - 10 rated.  I'm trying to decide between their "Smart U-Lock" and their HUGE one.

I know it's sad to have to lock a nice bike up with all that.  When you can leave a $2500 Chevy beater unlocked with the windows down... (same price)

It was a year ago or so.  Gareth suggested to me the 17A battery.  I could afford it, it worked well, until my RW4 got boosted. :(  He's a RAD owner, and has a section of his collection devoted to RAD bikes.  Email him, he's on GMT so phone calls to North America are a scheduling issue.  He's got family too!  A good and nice guy to work with.  Tell him I sent you! :)

some... that's all relative and subjective.  Wouldn't it be nice if the controller would let you pull that kind of data out of it.  Unfortunately it's probably some Arduino type "processor" and not a real computer like a RPi. Or a Bluetooth connection to the BMS.  Hmm, things for the suggestion pages.  I'm making a list...

I may have been in the break in/balancing phase of my new batteries.  I'll give it a couple more charges.  Today I went close to 20 miles West & then East in CID, less hills than North to Center.  I only used 2 bars...
The town is weird.  The Cedar River cuts it in half.  The quarters from downtown are NE, NW, SE, SW.
