For those of you who use a Dash Cam during your cycling commutes, which Dash Cam

Thanks

Look Here  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0z6VF2LzUD8

Jay, Ryan produced that vid back in September and there seems to be some divergence of feedback and opinion about whether the very-latest-shipped units since November/December or so can still be .... ummm, "improved" or not.  It's possible Rad has somehow put a better lock on the door.  I don't think we have definitive info yet, though.

There's always the replacement controller/display route, hopefully available now or soon for the new models, but unless reversible that would be a warranty voider.

Exactly. I ""believe""  that all the Rad bikes shipped out now no longer have the opinion of increasing the top speed and this feature has been disabled. Still waiting for verification from a new owner if this feature has been disabled.

I'm still undecided on either the RadCity plus 5 or the 6. No need to hurry to purchase as the weather is poor for riding.
They are both the same price and wondered if they are exactly the same mechanically as I'm not thrilled with the fat tires of the 6 model.
Thanks

RadRover / Re: RR 6Plus speed and wattage upgrade ??

Hi everyone...just received my new RR6+ and working on the display speed and max watt menu. I can raise the speed to 40 kpm but the max wattage only has 2 choices 250 or 500. Should it not have the 750 option as well? Thanks in advance.

Interested in verifying your information as I just read that the newly shipped RR6, which I want to purchase indicates
that the end-consumer cannot raise the top speed to 25 mph>

Mine (RR6+), shipped early November, doesn't seem to allow the change.

Thank you sir and for me that's a deal breaker. I guess I'll be looking at the Aventon which is a very similar bike anyways.
Thanks for your reply.

Hello -
Has anyone with a recent Rad 6 Plus purchase been able to increase the maximum throttle only speed to 25 mph
by reprogramming the bicycles LCD display? I have heard that as of November 2021,
Rad eliminated the ability for the consumer to change this feature. Thanks

Hi, thanks for your video.  It's a great introduction to all the options!  I'm considering the RadMission, but am concerned about the size, as I am 6' 6".  While RadPower's site states that it is comfortable for riders up to 6' 4", you mentioned in your video that you felt like you maxed out the bike at 6' 0".  Could you give some additional comments on sizing?  In my area, I have no way to try the bike before buying.  Thank you!

Hello -
Just ""MY"" suggestion as an old-time road bike guy. Fit is everything and at 6' 6", there is no way the RadMission one size frame will fit you.
May I suggest that you look into Aventon Electric Bikes as some of their model's come in different frame sizes and they are
running a small sale on some of their bikes. Good Luck

Hello -
Understanding that there are worldwide issues with obtaining specific bike components, I am in the process
of purchasing a RadCity 5 Plus Electric Commuter Bike in the next week ( waiting on wife's permission ) and
interested on feedback from recent purchasers as to which components are actually included on the bike.
Any current information sincerely appreciated. Thanks Joe Florida

I'm not sure the Rover and City could be any more different. The Rover is a fat tire bike, measuring 4" across on the tire.

The City has thin tires (think an old 10 speed), measuring 2" across.

It sounds like you need to look into a test ride on the two bikes. Check out Rad's site to see if they offer test rides in your area.

I wouldn't worry about the components. If they do have to swap out a part, it's always something of equal quality.
Thank You for your reply- For clarity, I'm comparing the RadRover 6 to the RadCity 5 Plus Electric Commuter Bike. The hub, brakes, suspension, fenders, frame material, battery pack, lights are basically the same. Not sure what you meant as any more different. Please explain as I'm trying to compare as to which one to purchase. Other than tire size and some minor cosmetic differences, the bikes appear very similar.

General Chat / Re: 5 Plus vs 6 Plus

I thank everyone for their replies. The main point I was trying to verify before purchase is that I believe that
the 5plus & 6plus are virtually identical bikes, unless I am missing something.
Also, I read on YouTube that RAD was changing - out components based on availability.
If I order the 5plus today, will it ship with shimanos or some unknown cheaper version component ?
Thanks again

General Chat / 5 Plus vs 6 Plus
January 13, 2022, 04:40:30 PM
Greetings — question regarding differences between the 5 plus vs 6 plus.  I'm an old time road cyclist recovering from knee surgery and in the process of purchasing either a 5 plus or a 6 plus to help with rehab until I can start back on my road bike. Other than tire size, what are the main differences between the 5 plus and 6 plus?  Which one would you suggest that I get as I have ridden road bikes all my life.  Thanks. Joe Florida.
