Service & Repair / Re: Choosing a tire pressure
August 26, 2023, 01:57:50 PM
Usually, the side of each tire has a maximum inflation recommendation (in PSI or bars). A number like this can tell you how much air you need for your bike. I suggest checking this source https://www.bikertricks.com/bike-tire-pressure/ for more information.

Different inflation pressures are needed for different bicycle tires, so you should check before you pump. As long as you follow this number, you should be fine.

RadRover / Re: Handlebar stem riser?
March 09, 2023, 11:10:50 AM
I didn't look for a stem exactly for the 2021 Radrover 5, but I usually follow one rule: when choosing a bike stem, it's important to measure your frame's length and compare it to the specifications provided by the manufacturer. I was lucky to find this source https://www.bikertricks.com/bike-stems/ that helped me to figure everything out. A longer stem shifts your body weight towards the front of the bike and puts you in a better pedaling position, especially on those steep climbs. A shorter stem will result in snappier steering, and a longer stem will produce slower steering.

General Chat / Re: Let's talk about battery fires

The confirmed number is 274 fires which MAY have been e-bike related. The majority of them with photos showed it was scooters, hoverboards, and home-made e-bikes. If there's a fire and an e-bike is in the vicinity, the e-bike usually gets blamed even if it didn't start it. We do need to be cautious, and I get my batteries from trusted manufacturers, but not every bike is bursting into flames. It's odd that there are 21,800 fires caused directly by space heaters every year, but they focus on e-bike fires...
I also think that there is nothing to worry about if you use batteries from a trusted manufacturer. There are also fires because of washing machines, but we all use them.

I also think that checking Facebook and Craigslist might be a good choice.
