RadRover / Remove rear fender

My rear mid-fender attachment bracket snapped. Does anyone know how to unplug the brake light cable mounted to rear fender? Also I suggest adding a rubber washer to the bolt holding rear fender to frame. This may help to lessen stress at this connection.

There are several 3rd party extensions that should work. I would be careful extending more than an 1" or so as the cables are fairly tight not much slack.

Keep your chain and derailer in good shape. Get  " The Grunge Brush"  online. Its shaped to clean chain and parts.  From a bike shop get a de-greaser and chain lube.  Keeping the chain clean will help shifting stay smooth and chain/derailer last longer.

The free online service Trailforks is great. Maps are color coded for difficulty. Clicking on a trail opens a the trail profile window so you can check the trail grades at any location. With a heavy Rad bike knowing the grades ahead of time is key. If you enjoy the service donate some $$ or join the pay service its cheep like $1.25 a month. Its nation wide but free service only covers the 40 miles of so near you.

Rover 6+ definitely has more uphill torque than the the Rover 1 from last year. We have both. The 6+ seems to need about 1 less power assist level on hills. I ride PQ Canyon every other day. I'm 70 and made it up "Sidehill" which lists as 16% grade.  A Suntour suspension seat really helps also. Breaks are also a big improvement, much better on steep cobbles/ruts going down long hills.

Ran my rover 6+ up "Sidehill" in Los Penesquitos Canyon this am. Its listed as 16% grade and is probably about as steep that bike will go, maybe a little more but not much.  If you've got to climb something steeper you probably need a 2-1/2" tire bike that weighs less than the Rover. Also I'm 70 so a younger rider may get up something steeper, I'd like to hear.

I believe the plus 6 manual notes the % grade limit is 15%.  I'm 70 and am making it up 15%-16%+ grade hills so I'm not sure what the power issue would be.  We also have last years rover step thru and the plus 6 is can climb grades at 1 pedal assist lower than last years rover.  I don't know about the throttle on hills as pedal assist is obviously more power than the throttle.  What grade hills you trying to climb. I can't climb the grades the $4,500 ebikes climb but that's ok by me.

I have both a rover 6 plus and last years Rover 1. The Rover 6 plus does seem to have more torque for hill climbing. I find I'm using one power assist level lower in areas compared the the Rover 1. Both are step thru.  If you are concerned test both the 1 and the 6 plus on the same hill.

We own both a Rover 1 (last years) and a 6 plus, both step thru .  The new Rover 6 plus seems to indeed have more torque. I ride canyons, hills, & pathways.  Seems that I can use one power assist lower on the 6 plus than I use on the Rover 1. The front on the 6 plus seems a little lighter than the 1 which is good. I don't know yet if I can get up a steep 16% plus dirt hill on the 6 plus that I cant climb on the 1. I'm adding a suspension seat post, and gel seat.  For trails the bell is tough to reach so i'm change that out.

Rover 6 does have more torque than the 1. We own both, the 1 is about a year old. I ride trails, canyons, and paved paths. Rover 6 seems to be able to climb one pedal assist lower then same areas on the older Rover 1.  Front end also seems a bit lighter which is nice.  Battery is equal to or maybe 10% better not yet sure on that.

I emailed rad requesting that they add the sun(comfort) seat as an option. Fat tire bike are typically purchased by customers who want comfort.  Also Rad does not seem to respond to emails, I have sent three with no response.
