RadRunner / Re: Radrunner Cover
« on: July 27, 2021, 04:42:19 AM »
I have a Suzuki VanVan 200 and have a cover for it. I tried it on my RR and it was perfect. It even cinches around the bottom in case you store yours with the wheels off the ground. So I recommend this size of a motorcycle cover. It’s easy to Google. Some of them even come with a metal cord around the bottom for alarms. And most are for indoor & outdoor use. Here’s one on Amazon.

Rad Modifications / Re: Remove Radrunner Max Speed Limiter
« on: July 23, 2021, 01:08:54 AM »
I just got my RR a few weeks ago. (Not the +) and did the tape trick. It worked. I also just ordered the Eggrider V2 from Luna Cycles. I haven’t gotten it yet so I can’t speak on it. But it’s supposed to be plug and play. I can’t wait to try it out.
I guess in the past there was an issue that caused some jerkiness when accelerating but it was apparently addressed in the latest firmware update. Also, the Eggrider is used to more improve torque rather than speed. Especially in steep hill situations. There’s some videos on YouTube if you want to check it out.

They make those things for dual sport motorcycles. I would look for them on a site like Revzilla or Rocky Mountain ATV. you can also buy hand guards that would definitely fit the RR. You could get a plain pair for under $20 in pretty much any color your heart desires.
Here’s a pair of mitts for $15

I’m glad you got it figured out. What $150 million are you referring to?

If you added a slanted platform on the other side with a bottom shelf and a rubber hook and loop (like on the other side) you could buy an inexpensive solar charger (or a regular one) and put it on there so she could use that instead of the battery power to charge her phone.

How To Information / Re: Cannot get my battery back in
« on: July 21, 2021, 12:07:28 PM »
If it’s not the pin, was it hard to get out?

Sometimes when something isn’t removed for a long time it gets a build up of dirt and dust (think car parts) and it will only align a certain way after being removed.

If it’s not the pin, take a dry, dead tooth brush and brush the slides and the pieces that go into the slides. Even if you can’t see a build up. If that works, consider applying some dry graphite to the slides to prevent it from happening in the future.

How To Information / Re: Shipping radbike batteries
« on: July 21, 2021, 12:00:03 PM »
I agree with Jeff. I shipped a battery to Canada last year and after a lot of being told “no,” someone finally had the courtesy  to tell me that you an only ship them by ground and that it’s pricey. So I sent mine via FedEx as well. And while it was more than an average package, it wasn’t a wallet buster. I sent a military grade flashlight with a non removable, rechargeable battery. I think it was like $35-40. Yours may be a little more because of weight and if it’s an awkward size that doesn’t fit in one of their prescribed boxes.

Hi All I picked the RR1 and it got here a few weeks ago after being back ordered. And then I had surgery so I can’t ride it yet. It is my first e-bike. I actually sold one of my motorcycles to buy it so I hope I love it!
In the meantime I’ve been slowly putting all the upgrades I got, and/or am making for it. I’m excited to post about it when it’s all said and done.
I rode a Byrd scooter one time in Baltimore and have never stopped thinking about it so I have a feeling I made the right decision.
This is a great forum by the way. I’ll be sure to use any links if it’s stuff I’m looking for.

Rad Modifications / Re: Double your battery life
« on: July 20, 2021, 02:34:36 PM »
Oh, yeah. I understand that. I mean if there was a charger that said what % the charge is on the battery if I only wanted to go to 80%. That your design automatically turns off at 80% full, I could just plug it in and go about my business rather than hanging around until it hit 80 so I could unplug it and extend my battery life.

Depending on your mark-up, I would definitely be interested in this. I just got a RR1 a few weeks ago. I bought an extra battery when I ordered the bike after reading about the life of the battery. Something like this would be great. Especially since it would stop charging itself and not have to be monitored.

Yeah, that’s weird. My experience before and after has been great. I just bought my bike a couple weeks ago. I feel like it’s a relatively small operation so maybe that’s been an issue? I did have my first two replies from them go into my junk folder without my knowledge. Is that a possibility?

RadRunner / Re: A few questions about the forks on the Plus
« on: July 20, 2021, 06:22:57 AM »
The specs on the rad power page say this:

Fork

RST spring fork, 80 mm travel, with lockout and preload adjustment

So if there’s any oil in there, it’s most likely sealed. If there’s no small plugs that open with a flat head screwdriver I’d move forward with confidence. I also did a search for bleeding the forks and changing the oil and nothing came up.

As far as you attachment points, they are both the same so it probably got moved around. Here’s a view of each side.
Hope this helps.
