Title: Carry bag for Rad batteries (fits like a glove!)
Post by: JimInPT on July 11, 2021, 07:36:50 AM
I found a reference to this on a forum post somewhere (might have even been this one) and gave it a try - if you'd like something to protect a Rad battery and make it easy to carry when off the bike, this is it!

https://amzn.to/3iKKO8r

As I'd heard, this fits current batteries like a glove, as if it were made for this purpose, right down to following the curves at the top of the battery.  Padded, well-made and sturdy with a strap handle.  Not expensive, and you might get lucky - I got mine "Used-Like New" for only US$14.95 and it looked brand new.  Highly recommended if you need something like this; you might want to snag one before Rad buys up the production and rebrands it at twice the price.   ;)

Maybe a dumb question, but would this also fit the battery of a (new) Rad Rover 6 Plus?

No idea, but if the new battery is longer, maybe not; it's a comfy tight fit to the current battery lengthwise.  Amazon has good return policies, so you could try it to find out, if they're still available when the bike ships.

Rad offers battery bags now, but IIRC they wanted $40-50 for them, plus shipping, sheesh.

Yea, the high cost of the RAD battery carry bag is why I asked.

I bought this bag from Amazon and it indeed does fit the older batteries perfectly.  I strapped it to the underside of my RR+ deck for storage on a 54mi ride last week.

Does anyone know if the charger (2018 and newer) also fits with the battery?

Thanks!

It does not; the bag is just big enough to perfectly fit the battery alone.
