I'll cover this in an upcoming video, but the only suspension seatpost that *might* work is the Kinekt 2.1. You'll need the largest size they sell, the 31.6: https://amzn.to/34T9ogi

Then you can buy the 31.6 to 34.9 seatpost shim: https://bit.ly/337la9C

Again, I have not tried this myself and it's critical that you realize that you will be limited on adjustability. Hope this helps!

Hi Ryan, so I have a new question for you. Here's my situation. Currently I don't want to remove the RadWagon 4 seat from the oem seatpost in case it is damaged. The seat is holding together on the seatpost ok for now. I saw in one of the for sale photos....that the previous owner had a different seat installed but then he switched it back to stock before I bought the bike.  It looks like the seat attachment might be broken but it is holding for now. I don't want to attempt to remove the seat in case it falls apart and then I would not be able to ride. I want to keep the stock/oem seat and seatpost together so I always have that option or for however long it lasts. Mine does look like the seat attachment might of been broken by the previous owner.

The RadPower bikes website does NOT have a RadWagon 4 replacement oem/stock 34.9 seatpost for sale.

I did purchase a cloud 9 seat that I'd like to use. So alternatively, instead of looking for a suspension seatpost, are there any 34.9 long seatposts that you can recommend?

Or are there any 31.6 long seatposts you recommend? - Then I'd also buy the 31.6 to 34.9 seatpost shim you recommend above.

I'd like to at least use my new cloud 9 seat but I think it will be best to attach it to a new seatpost. Thanks!!

I ended up using a screw from when i installed my rear rack that was a spare, to mount my light. The light bracket that the kit came with is exactly the same bracket as the one on my bike. My light doesnt point straight, it points down just in front of my tire. I am a little dissapointed in the lack of instructions and the screws/parts the racks and baskets come with.

Here's photos of the light. As you can see the light is different than in the Rad Power Front Rack install youtube video. The light is rounded with a silver top that interferes with able to position the light pointing out so the light is forced to point down.
I'm still happy to have this rack - but the changes made to these bikes  - and the compatibility issues are a little annoying. Especially when you need to buy missing bolts to attach the spendy $$ accessories.

But I'm happy I got it mounted and that now I can ride with both or our dogs. Ride on everyone :)

I'm about to install my front rack too. Also like everyone here the front rack package did NOT include the light bracket mounting bolt. And ditto on the included light bracket being identical to the light bracket already on the RadWagon 4. So I'm going to have the same issue of the light pointing down in front of the tire instead of pointing forward. And I too am disappointed with the lack of instructions and lack or screw/parts. And sure they have nifty videos online on how to mount but those videos do NOT include the bolt sizes you'll need to purchase when they don't send you ALL of the pieces needed for installation.

and Rad Power Bikes already commented on their youtube front rack install instructions video to a guy asking whether he even needed the light. Rad Power bikes said this "We recommend that you do as there are also times in the day where visibility may be low. Keep in mind that the light is not just so you can see, but so people can see you."

well hopefully people can see us with our lights pointed down!!!! yeah I've been a little mad about stuff lately. whatever.

Hi. "We The People" is a German BMX company that is specialized around 22 in tire BMX bikes. They have a global distribution network and their products include 22in tires and tubes, but the widest tire they have is 2.35in (the "Feelin' Tire") instead of the 3in that Rad has put on the Radwagon 4. The tire is not as wide, but maybe it will suffice for you while you wait for Rad to stock their own 22in tires.

https://wethepeoplebmx.de/

I live in Finland and I plan to ride my Radwagon 4 throughout the winter, so I was looking for a studded winter tire solution. I calculated that I can fit a normal 24in tire on the Radwagon as the standard balloon-y 22x3in is almost the same circumference as a 24in tire. The issue here, however, is the fat bike-y 135mm front dropout width. I had to order a fat bike front hub from Hope (not cheap) and I plan to lace it up to a 24in rim. I knew this limitation going in when I bought the bike, but the other option was to go for a TERN GSD, but it would have been over 2.5x the price of the Radwagon.
This is fantastic info thanks for sharing Antti L. So far so good with the tires on my RadWagon 4.  But the fact that the new custom size tubes and tires are not available for purchase on the Rad Power bike site is daunting. Good to know there is something out there to purchase that will keep 'em riding.  Although I'm in California and I wonder how long a purchase from Germany would take to get to the states? Either way, thank you so much for this option!!

Thanks Ryan & spyder— there's a d-ring that you hook a short strap to your pet's harness ring. With it tightened enough your dog can move around but not jump out. But I hear ya. Gizmo has ridden motorcycles and now my rad wagon 4 with me and I check on him a lot. He loves it

We're loving this bike!! Here's the unboxing and installation of the Rad Power Large Platform and a Saddleman Motorcycle Pet carrier onto my RadWagon 4.

There are 2 positions you can install the large platform onto the RadWagon 4. I chose closest to the rider so the tail end of the bike is less heavy for turns etc. And so that I can reach Gizmo Biker Dog to pet while riding :

So just a heads up that JCcycles seller on Amazon canceled my order of the DJC suspension seat post. They said they'd refund me & gave NO reason why they canceled my order.
Then I received another email stating the order has been canceled & the reason is "customer canceled" which I did not.
I'm waiting to see if they indeed refund my $ the transaction still says pending.

So I might be looking at Ryan's option if it will fit the 34.9 on the RadWagon 4

Or I might need to double shim!!

Hey Jason,

Yeah i saw I have the stock seat still. I thought it looked like the seat post is damaged. I tried to remove the seat but I couldn't get the bolt to budge. I also decided to stop trying because if the seat post is damaged, then I'm screwed if I remove the bolt and the whole thing falls apart. If the seat can't attach to a broken clamp/seatpost, then I can't ride :( For now it seems sturdy enough so I better leave it alone.

And I figure ordering replacement parts will have MAJOR delays in the mail right now.

That's a bummer about losing seat height with the new seatpost. I didn't consider that. But I'll still mount the cloud 9 to the DJC suspension post when it arrives. This way I'll have a new option to try and I'll also remain having the stock option.

If I find I miss the higher seat height then I think I'll probably need to buy a replacement stock seat post from Rad Power Bikes. Or I can try to muscle off the bolt and hope the broken bits come back together again securely. But again I'm not trusting they will.

I always appreciate your precise information and photos Jason! You rock!!!!!

Hey GoPam,

You'll need an M8 Nyloc nut and M8 washer to replace the missing parts.

Cheers,

Jason

Ultra Hero Status earned!!!  Thank you!!!!!

Thanks for the info Ryan!  And Jason you're maintaining hero status with me big time!

I actually purchased the same cloud 9 seat as you. Yesterday I tried to install it but I couldn't budge the screw on the stock seatpost. These pictures are not the best quality but I think the stock seat post where it attaches to the seat is damaged? I'm thinking maybe the first bike owner swapped out the seat. But then swapped it out again to return the stock seat to the bike before selling it to me. I recall seeing a picture in the for sale ad with a different seat. And perhaps the seatpost got a little jacked? Unless you think in these images, the seatpost parts are just not properly aligned?

But either way, I couldn't even get the stock seat off! I have been healing from a torn thumb ligament so perhaps my hand strength is lacking. Maybe I'll ask my neighbor to give that screw a crank. But.....

I found this seatpost on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08K7N3CC2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They have different size shims to order, so I ordered the  27.2 seatpost that comes with a 34.9 shim. I think it will work since the RadWagon 4 says 34.9 seatpost size on their website specs??!!

So my next plan is to mount the cloud 9 on the DJC Suspension seatpost. Crossing fingers it will work and be delightful.....I'll post my findings......

General Chat / Re: RadWagon 4 Kickstand Springs

Well here's my RadWagon 4 temp kickstand spring fix video as I tried to mimic Jason's fix. Huge thanks to Jason, you're my current hero right now. You'll see my hardware store was out of stainless steel wire so for now I did a temp fix with one new spring using galvanized wire. I plan on RE-fixing it later with stainless steel wire and both NEW springs.

I need to pull out the side kickstand bolt to bring it to the hardware store to figure out what size washer and locknut to buy. I don't supposed anybody knows that info before I remove it??? Jason do you know?  Do you want to go for ULTRA Hero status? haha. Thanks so much for looking out Jason!

GoPam,

I was looking at your image, and it looks like your kickstand is also missing a washer and locknut on the left side:

You should definitely get this fixed too as the kickstand will bind up if the bolt falls out.

Jason

Aha yes Jason you are correct. Thanks for looking out! I'll go pick up a new washer and locknut along with new extension springs. Gotta get this bike in tip top shape.

okay another post from me as I google search haha.....

I'm seeing some people need to double shim!  They buy 2 shims to get the correct specs. Of course I can't find anyone doing this yet for a RadWagon 4

but as the RadWagon 4 website notes: the SR Suntour SP!@ NCX seatpost compatibility: ALL ebike models EXCEPT RadWagon 4

So if I understand correctly I need a 34.9mm suspension seat post. So therefore I might need to double shim!

I might need to look for shims that would be: 34.9 to 31.6 AND 31.6 to 27.2

Or maybe.....shims: 34.9 to 30.6 AND 30.6 to 27.2

As you can see I'm an excited NEW Rad Power bike owner. Trying to get my RadWagon 4 with a SWEET set up! I'll let you all know what I end up doing  8)
