Title: Steering is sticky
Post by: MichiganRadRider on April 21, 2021, 09:56:36 AM
My wife has a 2020 Rad step thru.  She hit a curb a few weeks ago and bent the front rim.  After changing out the entire front wheel assembly, the steering is still a little sticky.  Any suggestions on what to check for troubleshooting?

I really appreciate any suggestions.

a good place to start -

remove the cap stem / headset bolt - verify as not bent

remove headset and carefully drop fork (noting number of bearings, washers, spacers and positions of same) - verify headset bearings are not damaged and spacers / washers present are not bent or damaged

look down fork steering tube - verify no damage or misalignment of star nut.

any others care to chime in with suggestions?
