A little gamey, but tender if braised properly.
RadRunner / Re: RadRunner 2 35A upgrade settings

I wonder if by "push feature" they're referring to the Walking Mode (when you want to walk alongside the bike under slow-speed power, IIRC by pushing and holding the Down button)?  I have a Bolton upgrade and will check to see if my firmware has this setting; the factory controller was not speed-adjustable and I think it was a little too fast for me.
Do you take checks from Bank of Antarctica?

You seem mighty touchy about California's failure to enforce laws; gee, wonder why that might be?  Exhibit A: San Francisco.  Exhibit B: Los Angeles.  Hard to deny the thousands of videos out there documenting the ruin - have you seen the ones with thieves scraping shelves clean into giant garbage bags (taking some care not to exceed the dollar value that makes it a possibly-prosecutable crime) and just pedaling their bike out of the Walgreens unobstructed

Just so you know, I was born there, grew up there, lived in both Exhibit places and fled almost 30 years ago, but still have a few relatives trapped there watching it all decompose.  It's just sad (and entertaining for those of us not trapped there), but it's not accidental nor unexpected, no matter the lame defenses mounted for it all.  Did you notice Oakland's mayor getting her house raided by the FBI/IRS yesterday, along with her garbage-collector paymasters at three other sites?  How fun!  Don't park your e-bike in Oakland, for sure, if you'd like to have it tomorrow.

That's a very complete set of photos of both the thief and his vehicle and you're right that front/rear large baskets is a pretty unusual setup - if he can be found, that ought to do it.... good luck!  I assume a Rover 6+ would qualify for felony theft, except for maybe California, which has made crime legal so anything can be stolen and nobody does anything.
How does that front fender provide any protection from water spray and mud at all?  Is it just decorative?  Who signs off on designs like this?
RadWagon / Re: RadWagon 3 Running Boards

Quote from: Harhir on June 06, 2024, 08:35:09 AMYou won't be able to find new ones. The only options you have: Find someone who is willing to part with theirs, Buy a another used Radwagon 3 and sell it again after you have taken the boards off. Or have some fabricated by a local metal shop which is probably too expensive.

Given the layout and hole pattern taken from another set, one should be able to fabricate duplicates with a jigsaw and drill from marine plywood, sealed with marine varnish, attached with stainless hardware.  I don't have a Wagon, so just speculating here.

I'd do an Internet search to see if maybe somebody has published plans for these, maybe even Rad themselves.

However, I personally prefer the development of e-bikes because it greatly shortens my short-distance traveling time. I wonder if you are inclined to the future development of e-bikes, and I look forward to your discussion.

Not a fan of talking beavers; it's always surprising and off-putting.

Quote from: RadOST on May 01, 2024, 08:52:45 AMI think the easier way would be to write to Rad bikes and ask for the paint specifications.

True, but even getting the factory paint spec won't get you a match to your aged/faded Runner color.  Please let us know how it works out for you.

Good paint stores have scanners that can analyze a paint sample and barf up a recipe to make a matching batch, so you might take your bike in, or a sacrificial paint sample, for scanning and matching.

With this method, your touch-up paint would be pre-faded to match if they do it right.
Just curious.... what is your headlight looking at that's so interesting?
I've had this one for a couple of years and it seems very well made.  I've never actually needed it on the road, but bought it after I had to use my little toolkit emergency pump with a 2" stroke to help a lady pump up her fat-tire tube and that wore out my forearm and patience, so got this one.  Due to its rugged construction, it is a little heavy, but on an e-bike who cares?  I carry it, and other stuff, in a handlebar bag in the rear basket that I can flip out of the way:,9800.msg24885.html

I just did a pre-season charging on it and it still seems to work perfectly.  One nice feature is that you can set the pressure you want for your particular bike and it'll shut off when it hits that, making it easy to use.  The display is illuminated as well; handy for night work.  You can also use its battery to recharge a cellphone with the included USB cable and it has a built-in LED flashlight function as well.

It seemed you might have a problem accessing the zipper once the rear basket is full of stuff. Which can easily be fix by changing the orientation around.

Yes, that's true and a good point, but most of the time I don't need what's in there, and if I do it's easy enough to pull them out before flipping it over.  But I'm intrigued and will probably try your suggestion to see if I'm missing something.
