I was able to purchase some tubes from them recently, I think early August is when they sent them to me. Funny thing is I don't need them now because I put in the Tannus Armor liners and they use a different tube size. My local bike shop put in the Tannus liners and said they didn't even have to cut them to make them work. If you want to add the liners then the smaller tubes that go with them are available here: https://amzn.to/314KX1l
The link shows me multiple sizes to chose from. Which one did you get?

Honestly, I've thought about trying with my RR6 but living in north Idaho I'd say I'd need to upgrade to a 35a-45a controller before I could do it just from a weight capacity standpoint. I would feel comfortable using my bike, especially if I were to get a Radwagon 4 and upgrade the controller, or hook on a small trailer.

I think if you're going for white tail or bigger you need to go for a middrive, anything smaller definitely wouldn't be a problem just weight may be an issue depending on how mountainous your area is. I do feel I have enough space for a gun/bow rack though.

From a mud and grime standpoint. Juliette connectors, at least in my experience, are incredibly resistant to moisture, mud, dust, and dirt. There's plenty where I'm at and I've yet had any issues. I just give it a rinse with a garden hose on the frame and wheels, give the whole thing a wipe down with a shammy, and regrease my chain.

Last thing, and most important. Go to a fabricator/metal shop and have them make a metal bash guard for the bottom of the frame to cover the crank area and wires. If you drop onto a rock you'll likely destroy the cables.

TL:DR
50lbs or more go for a middrive/upgraded controller and a trailer. Anything smaller shouldn't be an issue. Mud, moisture, and grime hasn't been a problem yet for me in North Idaho. Get a metal guard for the bottom of your frame to protect the cables.
Having a Wagon 4 even with suspension seatpost and cloud 9 saddle I wouldn't feel comfortable taking it off-road much, the ride is just too harsh for that.

It's worth noting that the bike in the picture is not a Radwagon 4 but an older model.

The Yepp seats are pretty great, very easy to mount, easy to use and add a tiny bit of cushioning for the little ones.
I ride mostly on rural roads in Ontario and the ride is stiff - avoid bumpy roads if you like your children to enjoy the ride.

I have also added the running boards and the caboose - both offer a bit of additional space around your kids as an added safety benefit. I recently was forced to have an emergency stop where the bike slid partially into a ditch and leaned sideways. Had it fallen completely to the side my boy would still not have touched the ground thanks to the boards and caboose.

I also bought a suspension seat post and the cloud 9 saddle (with extra springs) to cushion the ride a bit further.

Do note that the tyre tubes may not be in stock and are a custom Rad size - maybe invest in the Tannus tyre protection or order a spare set just in case.

Hi all.  First flat yesterday at mile 70 or so.  Tubes are backordered as usual.  Looking at the Tannus Armour bundle.  Has anyone sourced this from somewhere other than directly from Rad?  Any alternatives?  Pricing seems high, but cannot find anything else on my own with an hour of searching this morning.  Thanks!
I find it questionable of Rad to sell a bike knowing well enough that the most common replacement part is currently not available. Having that more custom kind of tyre size was one of the main points of criticism from the get-go for the wagon...

I have so far only been caught in a heavy downpour once with our wagon and I hope I don't repeat it. Looking at the overall quality of the connector pieces and seeing the marks from the splash water once I removed the battery I doubt this bike would withstand very wet conditions for extended periods.

I'm not sure if other ebikes are much different in that regard, at least at this price level. I'll focus on riding in better weather - and if the kids are on-board probably temperatures above 10 degrees centigrade.

I have the yepp seat mounted on the back position. The Radwagon is designed to carry two of these seats so I don't see a problem using either of the designated positions.

RadWagon / Re: Spare battery transportation

Thank you both for your replies! I've seen the one video on YT as well - the battery seemed to almost fit well except for a little bumping against the rear fender...

The bag also looks interesting - Canadian Amazon unfortunately charges 100+ bucks for 3 $30 USD item... but will look around a bit more.

Bumping this up again. Anyone with a spare battery on their wagon? How do you carry it?

I posted this somewhere else on the forum but thought I'd share it here just in case people were reading this thread still.

The Tannus kit for the RW4 comes as a 24" kit with instructions to cut it. My local bike shop said with a little extra effort they were able to use it as is and it fit just fine, no cutting required.
How has it been so far? Any changes to the ride comfort with this installed, for better or worse?

Hey Mario,

Has the bike arrived yet? I second that the caboose won't work in your scenario. I have a three year old in a Yepp seat and have to lift him in every time.

If you make room at the end of the bike for your 9 year old that should work fine and the boards or pegs will provide a good place to put their feet.

I just installed one on my bike. It was $400 CAD, expensive IMO but I'm using my RW4 primarily for dropping off and picking up my kids 5 days a week so I think it'll make the ride a lot more pleasant for them. My kids wear boots on rainy days so no worries about wet feet ;)

The frame screws into the caboose ends and shares a bolt with the outermost bars. The connection point on the Conestoga is "U" shaped so you only have to unscrew the bolts about 1/2inch for placement/removal of the frame as opposed to unscrewing the bolts completely. It comes with longer bolts to replace the standard caboose ones.

I was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of construction of the cover itself. It's super nice and really well-made. I can post some pics of it if you guys are interested.
Thanks much for your first impressions on it - how is it holding up? Do you have any issues with wind?
Our commute to daycare is about 15km each way and I'd be concerned about wind and wasting more battery power than I do already.

Hello,
my RadWagon 4 is set up like this. I have 2 kids on it (3 and 7) as well as 2 ortlieb panniers. To be able to attach the panniers I used paracord loops with small pieces of pipe on them (see attached pictures). This works very well.
Nice idea! I also like the wooden box you have in the front and that rear child seat. What brand is the seat and what is that leather looking brown bag you have mounted in the frame?

Just received a second RadRover 6 Plus Step-Thru.
I ordered one.

Once again, no email received about the shipment, but I guess others have noted that problem.

Now I get to even more of my time spend time fixing yet another error by Rad.

I don't want to sound like a complainer, but they seem to have some serious problems in the order fulfilment area.

Hi and congrats on the new Rad Rover 6.... but just to clear some things up... you originally ordered 1/one and mistakenly received a second one ??  What country are you in? USA I'm going to guess , and not Canada.... ??  So you have to send the 2nd one back now ??
With Canada Post the second one would either never arrive or show up in a year - looking at my experience getting a Radwagon  shipped.
