I wonder...the stock tires (the bike has been ridden for 2,500km) still look ok. A bit smooth but ok, but when the time comes to replace them, do I have to buy the custom made 27.5" x 2" tires from RAD or what other option do I have? I would prefer Schwalbe tires with the best puncture resistance rating...has anyone tried them or do you always buy the tires from Rad? I would like something a bit wider too...maybe 2.2" or so...is it possible? The new bike line up includes tires 29" x 2.2" I think...
The bike needs a good tune up...a new chain for sure (I can feel it skipping when I pedal sometimes)...brakes..good brakes...suggestions? Not many bike shops in Toronto want to maintain ebikes (unless they are the brand they sell!)...just the mechanical parts...frustrating...if anyone in Toronto knows a good place pls pls share!
thanks

RadCity / Battery care in Winter
November 20, 2023, 09:12:43 AM
hey guys. I have been enjoying my radctity plus since early August-I even did the hack to increase the top speed and I got 37km instead of 32km (I'm in Canada km is all I understand!) and I can feel all pedal assistance levels are stronger...just a bit but enough- of course it drains the battery a little faster but thats ok...and on this topic...I will bike as long as there is no ice on the ground! but in real life tests, what's the coldest this bike can be ridden? will the battery die in minutes in -10C? Will cold weather render the brakes useless? I dunno much about bikes clearly! and finally, for the Winter, I will keep my bike in the garage but will bring the battery inside-I read somewhere that I shouldnt keep the battery fully charged but rather half charged for storage? What's your opinion Radcity riders? Thanks so much

RadCity / GPS options for Radcity
August 18, 2023, 05:26:46 AM
Has anyone placed a GPS device on their RadCity? The only option I have heard of is the apple air tags but I'm not sure they are real GPS devices...others require a subscription of sorts. Is GPS tracking useless in the event of theft? Thanks

I just got one -the Stepthru model and I like it a lot. I'll get a water bottle holder for Radbikes from amazon but I also would like some sort of small bag for wallet/keys etc that I can hang from the handle bar or the stem post? My previous bike had a top tube so I had a small bag attached there...any ideas? a small bag will do...thanks

RadCity / RadCity 5 Plus Tiger Orange
August 12, 2023, 10:51:16 PM
Hey...I Know this Limited edition is not out yet..besides the orange colour, the description reads "with wider handlebars for tighter turns"...does this mean a less upright riding position than with the "older" Radcity 5 plus? I tried a Radcity 5 plus and I found the handlebar a bit narrow. The ride was nice but i felt a bit "constricted" and I'm only 5'7". I almost got a used one but this upcoming release sounds interesting. Pricey (for me anyway)..opinions? I will wait for a bit before buying...thanks

hi there. Totally new to ebikes. I'm deciding between a Rad City and a Rad Rover. For now I have a regular bike and I enjoy it for my commute to work (7km) and for some bike paths in the city of Toronto. I use mostly bike lanes on the streets of Toronto, Canada or bike paths. I'm considering getting a City 5 plus or a RadRover 6 plus for a little help if needed (I'm in my late 50s). I still want some exercise so assist level 1 might be enough for me. Is setting 0 (meaning no motor) make it too hard to pedal? I still want to feel that I could use this as regular bike. But I must ask, will I be legally allowed to ride this ebike Radrover (not at full speed-maybe level 1) on bike paths? Or are Ebikes banned from all bike paths In TORONTO? I tried understanding the rules at the City of Toronto website but I can't be sure I understand them. if there are any local riders. I depend on these trails to get to work etc. Much safer than the street. I don' t do off road much at all. Hoping to get some first hand experience from local rad owners. Are the 4 inch wide tires on the Rover a plus or a minus for my purposes? Thanks!
