General Chat / Seattle To Portland Ride
December 13, 2022, 12:54:38 AM
In Seattle once a year they have a 226 mile two day bike ride called The STP. I have ridden in on a road bike but that was when I was younger. It's hilly off and on the entire ride.

Considering riding it on a Rad City 5 Plus. I have access to 3 batteries but don?t plan on carrying one rather have a support person drop one off at various sites.

I have found that performance wise, when going down hill and turning pedal assist to zero it lets the bike free wheel and I suppose save battery?  There are stops every 15-20 miles along the way.

Any thoughts or suggestions about methods to use?

General Chat / Freestanding two EBike rack
January 09, 2022, 09:08:46 AM
Does anyone know of a freestanding bike rack that can hold two Radcity5 plus bikes? I would think there is something out there. Unfortunately I don't have room to place them on a wall rack.

For pavement riding exclusively, what PSI would you recommend on these bikes? Tire sidewall says 35-65 PSI.

General Chat / Storing bike with battery installed

If storing a Radcity5 Plus bike for say a couple of weeks or more is it better to take the battery out of the bike? I know some batteries have a parasitic draw if left in a vehicle didn't know if same for bike.

Just received two Radcity5 Plus bikes. Wife was unhappy with the seat which was quite hard compared to my buddy's  Radcity 3's seat. Tested a Pedego seat, Serfas Tailbones Memory foam TBM-30 seat, and a gel seat cover from Walmart. Hands down the Serfas seat was the most comfortable.

The bike's new motor has a lot more power more than my friend's Radcity3. I'm not a fan of the new derailleur I prefer the older shimano but that's personal preference. The new displays are nice. The new bike sits a little higher than the Radcity 3 but manageable. While in the Pedego store I saw their comparable model to the Radcity5 it was about $2900 and had the same motor as the old Radcity 3.

Pride & Joy / New Radcity5 Plus

Just picked up two Radcity5 Plus bikes. Very happy with them lots of power too. Many places to ride in Las Vegas. I have seen some Rad Minis, Radcity's and Rad Rovers in town here. Wonder if there is a Rad forum Facebook group here yet? Also got the Hollywood Sport SE EBike rack it is beefy. Rock solid.

Just got my new Hollywood Sport Rider SE rack which just came back in stock. My Radcity 5 Plus cover a lot of the rear taillights on my Sequoia as well as my friend's Toyota Tacoma. Found these on sale I think they will work well.
