Title: Adding Brake Light to 2018 Radwagon?
Post by: thrw0way1 on July 08, 2022, 11:22:33 AM
Hi folks,

I have a 2018 Radwagon which my family loves and we ride it nearly every day.

I would love to add a rear brake light that illuminates when the brake levers are squeezed (like they introduced on the 2019 and newer model years).

Has anyone done this? Is it possible with minimal modifications? Any thoughts or pointers?

I am very curious to hear other folks' opinions.

Prompted by your question, I entered "bike auto brake light" into Amazon search, which turned up a number of options.  Never thought of this, but I assumed somebody must have invented it because accelerometers are very cheap now and sure enough......

I have no idea how well they work, so reading reviews would be recommended and hopefully at least some designs have adjustable sensitivity.  Pretty sure bike-parts places online would have these as well, but it should give you some options to start with and would be a lot simpler than trying to wire in a switch to your brake levers.
