General Chat / Re: What mirrors are you rocking on your rad?
« on: May 25, 2020, 10:01:19 AM »
I see the two listed by Ryan on his equipment list but wanted to get others opinions. Riding on roads I’m looking for what will give me the best field of view on cars coming up on me.

Hi Bob Mc - my Hafny Handle end bars for my Runner just arrived over the weekend.

Not sure if i'm putting them on the right place on the handle bars - either that or i'm too wide that i'm blocking my own view.

Do you mind if i ask where you mounted them on your handle bars?

Cheers

Howdy, I mounted it on the left side, right next to the controller. it sticks out far enough to see ok. i'll try to load a picture.

My first mirror was a Hafny end bar, but when my Runner got tired and rapidly laid down on that side the mirror broke, it also limited my clearance between trees. I bought the Hafny handle bar, https://amzn.to/3h40HVI
And really like it. Good view, no shake, better clearance.

General Chat / Re: Charging Battery in Garage?
« on: May 04, 2020, 10:44:02 AM »
I just ordered the Runner and it will be here next week. I'm already reading the owners manual to prepare. The manual states: "Always charge your battery in temperatures between 50 °F – 77 °F"

I know cold temperatures kill batteries but how important is it to stay under 77 degrees? I ask because I was planning on charging the battery in the garage. I live in South Florida and my garage temps can easily get to 85 or 90 degrees.

Howdy, The manual also says to be careful charging, my garage gets hot also, Calif central valley, so I charge mine in the gas grill outside, in the shade and open for a breeze. I don't need to worry about the garage, attached to the house, attached to me, burning.

Welcome, and what an amazing photo :) What camera did you use, looks like from a DSLR?
Thank you, I use a Nikon D500. For that picture I used a low power flash to reflect off of the tires.

I just bought my Rad Runner (Thank you stimulus) and the next full moon was the "Pink" moon. So I named my Runner "Moonshine Runner".

Hello, I live in Sacramento,CA, USA. I've been riding bicycles for 74 years and motorcycles for about 61 years, I thought I needed to combine the two so I can carry my photography equipment farther and easier. With Trump's stimulus I bought a Rad Runner last month. It has been very enjoyable. The forum has helped me a lot already. A week after I bought the Runner we had the "Pink" full moon, so I guess I'll name it the Moonshine Runner. I'm trying to attach a picture of the Runner with the rising moon.

Thank you Ryan for the forum.

Hasta, Bob McCaw
