General Chat / Re: Insurance for e-bike thoughts?

I just priced bike insurance,  liability aside I can replace my bike every other year with enough money left for wings and beer and still be cheaper than the insurance.

Check this out! https://a.co/d/caexXVI

I made two mount supports and drilled holes to match the rad rear rack, then I drilled holes and mounted the factory tail lamp upside down.
It will keep honest people honest and keeps the weather out.
I will post some pictures of the inside when I get a chance.

I think I am really going to like this bike. I used just less than 2/3 of the battery and set it on 5 for the last 2 miles 😁

General Chat / Re: How much do you trust your Rad?

I program my spot to request help from a few friends,  then notify them before I leave so they are aware and can coordinate a plan to pick me up.
All of that is for riding motorcycles in areas that do not have cell service.  I am not sure how that would work in an area without a road 🤣

If you are really concerned get an In Reach ,Spot , or some other emergency gps device.
I have a spot which allows me to send a preprogrammed message to someone.  Or for enough money you can text whatever whenever

Rad Modifications / Re: Throttle disconnect kit
January 19, 2023, 12:48:20 AM
Thanks I have a plug extra plug cover for the bike side from the USB kit and the throttle side I can just tape up to keep out debris. I am not as concerned about moisture getting into the throttle side.
Going to fo the Greenbriar Trail in West Virginia and from what I have read they only allow class 1 e bikes.
Thanks @Traildad

It's now apparently fine to store your classified docs in your garage now too as well, so I wouldn't worry too much about bicycle nits.  Or, do what I did long ago and just move the hell out of CA to get away from all of it.

could be worse. you could be in a state where they want to take away the rights of anyone who isn't a straight white male Christian.
I don?t mind a little threadjack but a political topic like this is likely to be divisive. I got my throttle disconnect kit at the Berkeley Rad store and I didn?t even have to jaywalk.

Was it just two covers to protect the disconnected plugs??
