Yes  I did need a seat on my old bike, chain brakes.
I never felt I was in danger,  Rad support  is great,  unless you know about  engineering flaws.

So I let my friend drive my mini 4, bad move, she wants one.
I realized not a bike to own if you're not mechanically inclined. My 30 year old Trek mountain bike never needs anything,  6000 miles
So any experience with Aveton bikes?,
we only have a couple places that sells ebikes around here.

She is not mechanically inclined, unfortunately due to ride and fix Rad is not a option.

General Chat / Cheap tire pump
April 25, 2022, 11:25:11 AM
I was at Harbor Freight to get a cargo net for my rear rack. My tire pump finally  died after about 30 years.  I saw one there on clearance and thought for 8 bucks I will try it.,
I don't know about its durability, but on my first use it worked better than my old one ever did, the gauge was even accurate.
They are a clearance item so limited stock, I am going to buy another for a spare.

I've got a RadRover 6 plus with the Rad Rover rear rack on it. I have a milk crate bungied to it - i love the crate and it serves as my "trunk", and it's VERY secure the way i have it corded.

But I'm also realizing it's a pain in the butt to remove the crate and cords and get it back exactly how i like it.

Any with ideas on how to secure the crate to the rack without the cords, yet make it easily removeable at the same time, because there are times I don't want the crate back there.

In my brain, I imagine there's got to be some sort of sliding lockable mount, but i'm not proficient enough in these sort of things to know what I'm looking for, or even if such a thing is reasonable (making sure its mounted securely is important for obvious reasons, not the least of which is that i don't want it falling off with my laptop or what have you in it. )

Thanks for any thoughts, suggestions, ideas, etc.

I had the same thoughts on my Mini 4. I secured it with large enough washer and screws into the existing holes on the rack, worked well but still 4 screws to remove.
I am on the shorter side and swinging my leg over the crate was not fun.
I found this folding one and it has worked out great for keeping it out of my way when not in use, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Clever-Crates-25-l-Collapsible-Milk-Crate-in-Grey-and-Black-8534175-AAU/318505231?g_store=2710&source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&pla&mtc=Shopping-BF-F_Brand-G-Multi-NA-Multi-NA-Feed-PLA_LIA-NA-NA-Catchall_PLA&cm_mmc=Shopping-BF-F_Brand-G-Multi-NA-Multi-NA-Feed-PLA_LIA-NA-NA-Catchall_PLA-71700000014585962-58700001236285396-92700067144412350&gclid=CjwKCAjwx46TBhBhEiwArA_DjIN9OnfFSCTCdN8ajmWoZUjoRhv_NrUlUEbkk7jpCWQabsHQrMbd2xoCIOkQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I hope you a speedy recovery.  There are people out in the.world that frown upon ebikes.
I bought my Rad Mini to be my primary mode of transportation,  a medical problem arose and I made the decision that I no longer would drive my car until it is figured out.
Your horrible incident has made me decide to zip tie my quick releas secure, two different colored ties, one with a slight mark on it with a Sharpie, not fool proof but takes some work to vandalize.

I live just out side of Detroit,  no bike lanes to get around makes for interesting rides.
Thank you for the recovery wishes Muskie1. I also live outside of Detroit, and am fortunate that most of the ride is on the I-275 metro trail. However, the last leg of the trip is on an industrial road with no provision for bikes, so I'm riding with the cars on that section. The noise I heard was the axle turning in the fork, unscrewing the skewer in the process. Fortunately, because Rad's safety measures, the wheel stayed on during the high speed portion, and did not fully come off for 2.5 miles. As violent as it was, I'd rather crash on a secluded bike path at 18mph, instead of right in front of a car going 30mph.

Say, do you ever go on the Detroit group rides?
I would like to one day.  One way trip by bike is 14 miles, a little pushing it for now until I can get a spare battery.

I previously lived with Hines right out my back gate. Back then a normal non ebike ride for me was 30 plus miles daily. I have taken the Rouge Gateway trail from nearby to connect to Hines, construction has eliminated that option so I do Outer Drive, pretty safe route.
After not driving for 6 months I sold my car, no sense to make payments  and insurance.  My farthest ride on the Mini in pas 2 was 48 miles around Hines, low battery came on 1/2 mile from home.
Once Summer comes I think I have  a friend who would give me a lift to that ride, I miss my Belle Isle rides also.
